Insert August Comment here.
For real though, I don't know many more gnarly ones then what that kid went through.

Re: Your worst dirtbiking injury?
I would say for me it was back in (I think) '09 in the spring, and I was just having one of those breakthrough days on the bike where I was hitting almost every jump on the track, railing turns, etc. on my 85. Must have been too good of a day though and I started jumping this section I probably wasn't ready for, it was a set of about 6 doubles in a row that were pretty high speed. In the middle of the section I started swapping and got slammed and had to kind of roll off the track because I was afraid I was going to get run over lol. After that I might have been out for a minute I don't really remember but the first thing I said to my dad was "I think I broke my arm". I was right and it ended up being right below the ball of my shoulder and I was in a sling for 4 months.Luckily my adrenaline/high pain tolerance saved me some pain initially as I rode all the way back to my house in our truck and then went to the local orthopaedic's who sent me to the hospital the next day to get myself casted up. I also thought I had just tweaked my other forearm but I had broken that too, so they had to cast that.
So school wasn't very fun for 4 months, writing with my left had that was in a cast anyway lol.
Since then I've been a litle timid on jumps, but it's helped me minimize injury and keep seat time consistent which is good.

At least I'm not paralyzed. No head or spine injuries, so that's pretty cool.MX PRODIGY 17 wrote:Insert August Comment here.

Re: Your worst dirtbiking injury?
Um...I think probably my like three out of six concussions. I haven't broken anything on a dirt bike.
I've broken both pinkies, my right big toe twice, my rib, and my femur, and none of those have been from a dirt biking incident.
First pinkie, broke in half racing bikes with friends. I took a kid out, his handle bar smashed my pinkie in half. I guess he won that battle even though I took him out. Second pinkie, same kid, at his birthday party, broke it playing dodge ball. Big toe got broken from a slide tackling incident, and then broken again in a trampoline incident. Rib got broken going down an expert downhill trail. Femur got broken when I was two because I tried to kick a ball and ended up doing the splits and rotating my leg 180 degrees, breaking my femur straight in half. This was an early message, that ball sports aren't for me, though I'm pretty good at them.

Re: Your worst dirtbiking injury?
My worst crash was like 2 years ago at superstition (desert) when I broke my jaw. I was riding a fully modded 07 kx85 and I was just 6th gear tapped through these mile long whoops. I started getting a little sketchy in the whoops because the whoops are so unconsistant and random. I started swapping out and I wasnt able to save it by giving more throttle because I had no more... so I ate shit. lol. As the bike and I were tumbling, I guess the bars managed to miss my helmet and neck brace and slammed into my jaw. I took a little dirt nap then woke up with my face covered in blood. Went back to the trailer, iced my jaw, then went riding for the next 2 days.. Good thing I am young and my bones are flexible and my jaw just had like a spiderweb type cracks rather then my jaw exploding. Oh, and having to eat everything in liquid form for about 3 months is NOT fun... at all.

Hard to pick one (Excuse my grammar)
Scaphoid

At LACR I was doing a GP but there was no practice, I did check out the track but on the first lap there was a long right hand sweeper with no bumps or anything, just a long turn with a big berm on it. I come through probably 4th gear wide open on the berm and it blew out, I flew over the bars probably 10 feet on my head/back.. Both of my wrists were broken, it was in the "Pit" (Day in the Dirt, you've seen it if you check that out), and nobody was down there to help me. I was stuck down there for probably 10 minutes. I had to pick up my bike myself with two broken wrists. My left wrist healed, but I re-broke my right one riding at Starwest when I hit a triple and my bike cut out right on the takeoff and I nearly pulled a Pingree. Front end case into the landing of the jump and somehow I didn't endo. I re-broke it (When I "jammed" it probably 100 more time throughout the year), and eventually had surgery. My doctor said if I didn't get it fixed then, my wrist would have gone dead within 6 months. I would have woke up one morning and it would never work again. Thank god I got it fixed.
Broken Ankles
I was doing a LLQ at Comp Edge and was battling with Frankie Letteri before I started to get tired and doubled a triple (That was really sketchy the lap before when I tripled it) but over jumped it a tiny bit into the face of the third bump. I broke my right ankle in 6 places and my left ankle in 8 places. I think I had six surgeries over the course of a month? Similar to Izzi, the doctors told my Dad that they were going to amputate my ankle but my Dad you know, got in their faces about it and I believe that we went to a different hospital where we could get the procedure done.

Still in my ankle today, doesn't really bother me.
