post pics of your bikes

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Dang it. Always forget to add what I meant to say -

You get some scratches along the edge from tire irons and sometimes the stray mark more on the side from tire irons, but riding motocross isn't going to scratch up wheels. Maybe if you're riding through an excessive amount of sharp objects, they will scratch up.

But seriously, have you never seen a bike with black rims ridden for more than a few rides?

Yellow spokes + black rims = badass (On a Suzuki). Looks very Pastrana-ish

Holy shit, that really surprises me. But no, I've never owned black rims, specifically because I figured they'd scratch like all the ones I saw.

If you look at Brayden's bike you can tell those wheels have been used. That 's why they have the silver on the outside, from changing tires. But I do agree that black rims can become very scratched, but I never think they look too bad. My 2009 KX450F's rear wheel was pretty bad from changing so many tires and not being careful

If your running the right tire pressure, at least around here in all of the sand, you will scrub all of the black off the edge of the rim. The tire literally sandblasts black wheels out here, and unless you like the silver stripe look, the wheels show wear quickly.

exactly the same where I live. Its annoying. I'm not a big fan of black wheels anyhow. IMO they are way overused and overliked. But sometimes they make or break a bike.

yup, my dads got black warp 9's on his crf, and honestly they just make the wheels look heavy. No action shots but here's a couple of pics after riding today. The bike really just gets dusty out here in the desert, can't wait until it rains or snows again and gets the ground damp.

How are the Warp 9's holding up? At my buddy's track, he managed to put a crack in his rear rim. The track is really hard packed and rocky though.

other than turning silver on the rear, really well. haven't even put a dent in them yet, really pleased. when my dad rides tho, it's usually just desert trail riding, so up and down sand washes full speed, and some desert practice track riding, and really no hard pack track riding.

This made me think...

Would putting heat shrink tube on your spokes cause any damage? I wouldn't think that it would take much heat...
