I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

I love the fact that Stevo brought this up again, after a fairly lengthy argument about Americas gun laws in January, when that shooting happened... Stevo just likes to argue about something he knows nothing about.

Criminals will commit crime, whether guns are legal or not.

Columbine -> gun free zone
Aurora -> gun free zone
Sandy hook -> gun free zone
SPU -> gun free zone
DC shipyard -> gun free zone
Seems those places have fairly strict "gun laws", yet someone decided to bring in a gun...

Stevo, you're getting all of your "facts" from the American media. News flash, our media is an agenda filled fuster cluck.

Assault rifles are very difficult to obtain in the US. You have to go through the ATF and get a lot of paperwork processed because they are an NFA regulated firearm. Semi-automatic rifles are not assault rifles, no matter what they look like, though the media would have you think so. Additionally, "assault rifles" are the target of most of the media agendas, while they make up only a slight percentage of gun violence in the US.

People don't carry firearms to "look cool". People open carrying an AR-15 and trying to school police officers, then posting the video on YouTube, are assholes. 90% of the gun community thinks those guys are stupid. People carry firearms concealed, such that they can use them for self defense in the event they, or their loved ones, are put in danger. Shooting someone just because they made you mad is not a justifiable use of deadly force (no matter how you shoot someone, it is deadly force), and you will go to jail.

Places with strict gun laws (ie Chicago) are ALWAYS safer than places with less gun control (ie Texas). Uhh, sure.

I saw a car a couple months ago with two bumper stickers. One said "stop burying our children, bury guns". The other said "pro choice". Hypocrite much?

Steve, next time you want to argue guns, make a new topic so I'll know where to look.

Someone hold my rifle while I climb off my soap box...

I love the fact that people thinks that strict gun laws would change a thing in the US. It's already to late for that...

So today I got some big news.

My dad got offered a job to go out West in Edmonton, Alberta. He wants me to come in a couple of weeks to live with him. He wants me to work for him, train and ride out there. His new job starts out at 120k salary a year (which is more than double what he has ever made doing contracting) and he planned for me to start racing A class in the fall. I literally was shaking for 5 minutes when he broke this news.

I'd love to race again as its what I love to do, but I've been strongly conflicting my own interest because of getting involved with my dad. I had a falling out with him last year and I didn't talk to him for a year. I only started talking to him again in mid-April and we haven't really "cleared" anything up from what previously happened. I'm stumped.

BTW, 22 Jump Street was awesome!

Don't make him think you're in it just for the money. Don't let him see you shake! lol

We'll end this here but I just want to mention that the majority 80+% of deaths are for legal handguns (I didn't really mention assault rifles). Also, the facts did point towards the states with stricter gun laws being safer. Like Mark said there are a lot of factors surrounding this but those are the base facts. I actually did a fair amount of research into this to the point where I was able to say things some of you didn't even think was true. But like you said, no point in arguing anymore.
