Glen Helen almost became bankrupt after hosting the GP's for 2 years. They had a 4 year deal + mxon and they cancelled all that. Except for the mxon, but also that event moved from 2015, to 2016 and now 2017
I know Luongo is a good talker, but I don't see Glen Helen making the same mistake twice while they already have an AMA national.
Just imagine having the AMA national on saturday + the GP qualifiers and the GP on sunday with the top-10 from the national ... on Glen Helen
I just came

The money they shell out to get the rights for the event is insane. Freestone paid out $1m to host a national for 5 years, and there is no way they ever brought in that much.

Indeed, having the rights to host a GP/National/whatever costs money. The numbers I hear for a GP are between 400 000-750 000 euro. And mxon 900 000-1 200 000 euro. But tbh I think that is a bit over exaggerated.
But if you saw the pictures of the crowd, or the lack off, in Glen Helen, than it's no surprise they made some big losses.

The bold is why I don't think that Southwick will have the GP unless the new owner wants to dive in head first. Lots of money to shell out on a track that hasn't been open. Don't get me wrong, I would be happy to see Southwick get the race and all. One would think that they would give the GP to Glen Helen given the past circumstances.

Latvians paid 1 000 000 euros this year just to host the MXoN.
Anyone else find the girls interviewing that riders at the straight rhythm kinda awkward ? Could see some of the riders where dumb founded by some of the questions.

Yeah that topped it off haha. And one of Jesse Nelsons starts, the camera dude was still in his booth when the 5 second light had came on. And Jesse was trying to shoo him out of the way.
I thought for sure Pastrana had broken his right wrist or dislocated his shoulder when he flat landed that backflip off the finish jump. Just the way his arm came off so violently.
