A lot slower, the new FX 8150 which has eight cores is slower than the i5-2500K in most cases, only beating it in tasks that utilize all of it's cores. And even then, it barely beats it.Grizz wrote:AMD stuff is so much cheaper than Intel. Why is that? Other than the fact that intel has the popularity. I saw a six core AMD cpu that was way cheaper than the intel quad core that I bought. What are the draw backs?

Would it run the game? Yes.
Would it run it well enough to be maxed with more than 5 riders? no.

I'm going with AMD on mine, I'm happy with its on this computer, relative to the fact that it's a laptop of course. Will be interesting to see.

Re: Whats your pc?
Look on other sites and NewEgg had the prices beat by atleast $20 on every part. They ship from TN, so for me it doesn't take long to get here. Should be building either the weekend or Wednesday.

Re: Whats your pc?
Got a question...
My family needs a home PC, and my brother plays MXsim and some occasional BF3 and skyrim. Ive been looking around for some deals..and found this from Bestbuy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Esse ... 8413771325
its an i5 w/ 8gb RAM, and I can easily add a graphics card and its a decent gaming PC correct?
...and they have it in stock at my local Walmart so itd be a lot better for my dad to get it.
I wanna build one for them...but what im wondering is if its worth it, since I have to go back to school Jan 21st...im wondering if I order all the parts I need will I get them all in time, and be able to put it together with no problems. "If there are problems, itd be a hassle for my parents to get it figured out. So this is the reason i'm leaning towards a pre-built PC. I try and look at combo deals on Newegg but really dont have any clue what i'm looking for.
What I want:
-Sub 550$
-i5 processor
-atleast 1GB GPU..not sure AMD or GeForce...which way should I go?

Re: Whats your pc?
That looks good to me. Just put it together. The case has fans in it and the cpu comes with one. By the way anything you buy off Newegg will definitely make your January 21st deadline. 3 days shipping ftw.

Looks like it will need a PSU, GPU, and OS.BrutalMX wrote:DP:

My PC is fairly powerful, and I can easily get away with a 550w Antec TruePower PSU.
here's the link to my PSU (I got mine for $50 on Black friday at NCIX): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817371020
I run an AMD System, mostly because I was on a tight budget, and For me, AMD was the best bang for my buck. I have an XFX 6870 1gB (non reference design)and it has no problems playing anything on full graphics at 40+ FPS (My monitor is only 1440x900, so that is probably why).
Cheers,
Balls
