Chadwick anyone??
Re: MXS Midwest ride day
8 hours to Kirksville, MO for me. Funny that everyone is suggesting that it be held within an hour of their home. Even Walnut is 5 hours away for me, I must be retarded.
Oddly enough when you google "midwest" you get a lot of options to define it's borders, but to m, this is the midwest.

When looking at that map Mt Carroll/Walnut are easily the closest tracks to the center of that area. We have an in at Walnut so we don't have to schedule our weekend around the tracks. Can we pick which weekend we ride at the other tracks? Can we ride both days at the other tracks? All this stuff needs to be taken into account. At this point the only track that we actually have a yes or no answer to those three basic questions is Walnut. If you want to have an event in your backyard at least do some work to answer those questions...
No to be all bitchy about it, I'll pretty much go anywhere to ride, but the process of even picking a track is already dragging on far too long. Next we'll sit and argue about which weekend in October to have it for a month... Honestly we need someone to grab the bull by the horns and just say this is what's going to happen. I'd do it, but with the way people perceive me I can see that being off putting in spending your time and money to go ride with a pushy asshole... And really having 4-5 people show up defeats the whole purpose of the get together.

Seems like walnut is the track. To me it works, we have a in there, and everyone here has nothing but good things to say. If we go with Walnut looks like (if we want a private track) the date wont be until fall. If everyone wants it in May suggest MC, in which they are practicing all the time.
Does everyone here want a private session for just a Sim guys or is everyone down with just going to a open ride day and just all pitting together?
If you want a private practice in May I would suggest DCMX, might now have much elevation but its really fun and it has some nice jumps. Layton takes care of the track really nicely also and it develops some nice ruts.

On the downside, I am the only one who knows where the good trails are there. Haha
I am going to be my typical asshole self and say Walnut is where we should go.
It's basically the middle for everyone...between 3-8 hours.
On to the date debate.

Walnut is 4.5 hrs from me. Pretty sure my dad won't let me borrow his truck for that long of a trip just to ride a practice day. He wouldn't even let us borrow it to race there. Oh well. One guy not being there won't hurt much.

He wouldn't come with you, or does he not ride?
Walnut sounds fine to me. We need to get a date though. If my dad has off I don't think he'd have a problem going, if we could camp there it'd be even better since he hates driving home a distance after a day of riding. He did say something about me taking his truck but I kinda doubt he'd do that for a whole weekend

Late September or early October honestly is the best time for me. Just let know a weekend and I'll bring my camping stuffs.yzmxer608 wrote:He wouldn't come with you, or does he not ride?

I will find out if Bob wil let us camp there and I'm pretty sure we could do a Sunday/Monday in the fall. But I need to Know as soon as possible to get it setup. And I say if you got friends who want to come bring them if they play sim or not!

He rides, but he won't go anywhere more than 2.5hrs away for some reason. Oh well. It's just me. Like I said, no sense in trying to make it so just one more guy can go. You're not going to satisfy everyone. I'll find somewhere else to ride, or I'll be working.yzmxer608 wrote:He wouldn't come with you, or does he not ride?

Ballance has the worlds worst roost...darnified wrote:I think Balance MX in Kentucky would be perfect for MXS Ride day. Its pretty close to the middle of the midwest and its not no far from the east coast either. Its really fun, it's got some big rollers, some good size jumps, nothing to big, but nothing to small, so it should be good for various skill levels. This track is a fun speed track, but still pretty tame. Here is a video of Adam Cianciarulo tearing it up last year.

Sorry DP but I'd be down to go anywhere in the IN, OH, IL, and MI area this fall.

Re: MXS Midwest ride day
Since it is now basically here I am going to say we just plan for fall. To make it fair how about we just ask Kevin to see what the first few dates available for rent are open and we just take that. We aren't going around anyones scheduale but the tracks. Then we can go from there if we want to stop at other tracks or where we will stay but I can tell there will be no solid action done until we have a date.
So, Kevin, if you don't mind seeing what he says because I really want this time happen sooner rather than later.
