Whats your pc?

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

I'd go WD Black over Blue, but the rest of that last one looks great to me.

Sorry for the dp, but would a 4gb R9 270X be better than a 3gb GTX 660?

Got some brown boxes showing up over the last couple days with a new workstation build for myself at work. Super pumped on getting a new computer as I am constantly using 90%+ of my RAM and it is really slowing me down. Also adding a new network switch to the building to take advantage of port aggregation on our server and up the speed of the connections to gigabit lan.

Will probably start next week, the case isn't going to be here until Monday and I am going out of town Friday until Tuesday anyways.

Specs:
Asus Sabertooth z97 Mark II
I7-4790k (only a few $$$ more than the 4770k I was planning why not)
16GB Gskill Ares 1600
EVGA GTX 760 SC 2gb
NZXT H440 Case (Super stoked on this case, I think I may be in love)
NZXT Krakken X61 (excited to try this out)
Corsair CX500M
Samsung EVO 250gb SSD (will be the only drive since all our files are on the server)

Stay the hell away from Toshiba HDD, either Seagate or WD.

What kind of work do you do that needs a WC 4790k, 760, and an aggressive case like that? Is it because during lunch you have BF4 LAN parties?

For gaming purposes I don't think there are enough reasons to get an i7 or the i5.

I design houses for a day job, mostly work in Revit but will also do some rendering on it as well as the Adobe Creative Suite. I figure I can always bring it home with me to use as a render node when I have a big rendering project I need to get finished (extra 8 buckets will speed it up a bit). Not going to lie I will probably put steam/origin/uplay on there to get some gaming in when I have some downtime. Perks of your dad being the boss haha. I didn't take full advantage, he was willing to let me build a clone of my personal PC with 4930k 32gb ram etc but I said it wasn't necessary. I don't really think the case is that "aggressive" I just like the clean lines and the large window. Its not like the older NZXT cases that are all crazy plus I didn't want a stupid optical drive since it never gets used and almost every case looks horrible because of them IMO. I did consider Fractal but IDK all their cases have an ugly transition between the front piece and the rest of the case.

My current work computer is a crappy prebuilt HP (not workstation just mainstream) that I have been using for 4 years and it is time for an upgrade. I think it cost about the same as this build and when your main software costs $8k per seat its easy to justify a nice computer.

I by no means was bagging it just seemed like n entertainment build more than a work one but when you say you do rendering and art work then getting those types of things is understandable. Also, when I said "aggressive" I meant for cooling purposes, best I remember its got a few 140/120mm fan spots, with what is going on inside makes sense but once again its not something I'd expect to see in a work environment. The LAN party was a joke as its a running idea at my work that we are going to do it with some older games so the idea was fresh in my mind.

I wish that instead of buying through Dell we could build our own, it would save money and I would look forward to work so much more. The SFF Dell's are cool but I'm getting pretty sick of bloatware at this point.
