I'm currently on my Acer Aspire V3, hate it but thats Windows 8 fault not the laptops. Functions well, looks nice in my opinion (gloss black, finger print magnet but wipes off easily), has a few ports such as HDMI out and USB 3, battery life seems strong (I played Sim City 5 through a couple of classes and battery held up fine), only hardware complaint is it doesn't handle heat well. I don't know if it even has a fan as it never gets loud or has vibrations so the fact that I got one with a GPU and it relies on passive cooling makes this thing extremely hot under load. Other than that hardware wise its not bad, just stay the hell away from anything labeled Windows 8.
Windows 8 is literally making me rush decisions as I was possibly going to wait and think about my motherboard choices but I hate this thing so badly that I'd be willing to go AMD at this point.

Does it handle Mxsim very well? The specs for the Acer I'm looking at have a i7 4712MQ 2.2ghz with a GTX 850M 2GB and 8GB Ram. Will that handle sim pretty good?
Oh hell thats so much better than mine. I've got an i5 with a GT630, I run the same personal folder (models/skins/etc, no stock JLV models) from my PC with settings on 80,8,128 and Shaders/Copy with around 25-30fps. With what that has I'd expect 50-60 on sim in singleplayer easy.

Believe I'm going with the G1 Sniper for my motherboard. I'll probably stick with my WC loop for sometime, once I'm done with that loop I doubt I'll be upgrading or changing that many things with it so I'll just sell everything off and buy new stuff at the point, whenever that is.
Also, since I'm buying a new motherboard shortly if anyone on here would like a new/not opened $150 motherboard as an upgrade or for their new build I'm happy to help. I clearly won't be trying to make profit on it and its a solid motherboard for any Intel build, I'll probably list it on eBay but if anyone here is interested just PM or post and I'll cut you a deal/possibly help with shipping.

Somehow I never ordered the Mobo for my build so I just ordered it today. Hopefully it shows up in a few days, NewEgg is usually fast. Got the case and man is it beautiful. Hands down one of if not the best case for the $100-125 price range and slightly smaller than I expected (for me this is a good thing but others seem to want the biggest case possible for no reason). got the PSU, SSD, and Kraken X61 installed but obviously cant do much without the mobo.
Came home from work to a surprise delivery of 1 mobo. Got it all together installing all the drivers and junk now. Only one issue, one of the feet on the case doesn't have the little rubber bottom so the case is all wobbly. Hopefully NZXT will just send out the rubber piece and not make me return the whole case.
I will say that while I still love the case the one downside (other than the missing rubber foot) is that they could have left another 1/4" of room behind the mobo tray for cable management. Also, since the PSU is under the cover it is almost impossible to plug another cable in once it is installed. It seems like it would have been easy to cut the mobo tray back to expose the end of a typical PSU since they are all roughly the same size until you get to the 1000w+ monsters.
Build turned out really well though, nice and clean will post some pics probably tomorrow.
Ok guys, I have a question. I want to get a good processor for modeling and photoshop, but not sacrifice on the gaming end. Everyone says Intel is the best for that, but I only have a budget for an i3 not an i5 which everyone says is for gaming. Would an i3-4150 (or another i3 like it) be better than an FX-6300? I see in some reasons where it is, but the 6core vs 2core difference is really bothering me.
Ok guys so this is going to be my final build, If there is anything I can improve with this that will really be that noticable (speed wise, will only be using this pc for a bit of photoshop but mostly for mxs) could you please let me know, I dont really want to go over £500 but if I have to i might. Total cost of this build is around £490. Thanks everyone
I think it all looks fine. Whats the price difference there between a 750 TI and a 750? I know here its like $40 more for a 2GB OC 750Ti which is well worth it but might not be over there.

Equals out to be $60-70 increase I think. For me, I would say get the extra GB of memory and slightly faster clock speeds. Then again it depends on how long you think this system will last you. Your initial purchase is kind of low on the pole so if you are planning on swapping things out often and the GPU is on the list of swappables then it comes down to what you think you can get out of it in your time frame. For me though I'd say a 2GB 750Ti is worth it.

Btw does anyone know what Windows 8.1 is like? I mean does it affect MXS, is file management as easy as Vista/Windows 7 and so on, also, when I purchased MXS I ordered the 32-bit version so how can I get the 64-bit version for my new computer?
