I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

If your router uses a MAC address filter you might have to add the MAC address of your iPhone in the router's list of allowed address.

More specific on the problem? Is it reconizing the wifi? or is it just not connection?

I can see my Wi Fi on the phone ..when I click on it the password login comes up ...I type the password and it either just sits there trying to connect or says "unable to connect"

I think I had the same problem before with my ipod. It was after I connected to a mcdonalds wifi I think, (I dont know if this is the case). I think what I had to do was click "Forget this network" and then try reconnecting. Thats if the wifi was previously connect.

Found this after a quick search:

"Click Settings->Wi-Fi then find your network on the "Choose a Network..." list and hit the little blue circle on the right side. On the page that appears, choose "Forget this Network." After this has been done, reconnect to your Wi-Fi network."

Maybe you have already tried this idk but give a shot I guess.

Found this to:

1. Change the wireless network password on your router
2. Reset the network settings in the iPhone
(Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset Network Settings)

3. After the device restarts, go to the Wi-Fi menu
4. Select your network, and enter the new password
5. (Optional) Revert the wireless password back to its original value
