ok im looking for a 250 2 stroke i found a 2011 yz 250 for 4800 with a fmf fatty pipe on it. i found a few kx 250 from year 2000 to 2004 averaging 2200-3000. which would u say. price isnt the problem so just go by your judging.

If price isn't an issue than clearly the 2011 yz250. Why not just get a 2012 ktm 250sx? That's the fastest one with the most modern chassis, geometry, and suspension.

not a fan of ktm and i dont want my bike in 2 peices lol. ima kx fan and im having a hard time convincing my dad for the yz since we all love kx. p.s is anyone says why dont i go to honda just shut up

I would choose the Yz since price isnt a problem, it's newer and probably MUCH fresher. Engine, suspension, bearings, and just normal hard parts are probably going to be in better shape.

Of course, if you're planning to do full rebuilds, its not really going to matter. I'd still choose the Yz though.

i never liked any of my kx's as a 2 stroke. they lack the power even with a full blown PC motor and my kneebraces would always catch in the shroud.... Yz has a great 250 2 stroke everyone knows that.

Any bike would break if you didn't maintain it. Theres nothin wrong with KTM'S and their two strokes are top notch.

No their 2 strokes are only good from 2009 and up I'd say. before that their mx bikes were shit. Now they are good and possibly 1 or 2 out of the big 5. The kx's do have a weak motor but they're 2 inches shorter so thats a bonus if your a shorter guy like me,2 inches is a big difference.

Overall the 2011 yz is pretty good and might be a better deal for the money. KX's look better imo and you can trick them right out to look fresh, where as the yz can be done up but I like the kx plastics more. So if your planning on putting money into plastics,graphics,bars etc get the kawi so you'll save money.

he sounds smart and im drunk. ive personally seen ktms break the front end off on models before 09 haha. I wouldnt put my moneyh on a ktm unless it was like a 2010 & up. Honda had a good 250 in like 01 or 02 had tons of bottom. The last 2 stroke i rode was my friends 08 rmz250, and i really liked it. thats what i would buy.

yz all he way then. im 14 and 5,7. i did the 250 2 t my buddy brings his and his atv his 03 kx 250 was built by pro circut and has over 5000 plus in just the motor alone.

Are you fucking kidding me? Have you owned a KTM? Their frames don't randomly break. That's from abuse. Happens to all bikes eventually. Since money isn't a problem get the KTM. Best 2 stroke out there.

and I sense a Strong Bias between Jap and Euro Bikes. TM is by far the best bike, but isn't in the "Big 5". If you want to go for something head turning, its the TM and then the KTM.
