Simulator?
This tread is just to explain my thoughts about this "Simulator". I think that this game is kind of bulls*** in a way. Its fun and all once you spend a year trying to learn to play but i think this game is nothing at all like riding a real bike. It DOES NOT take months to learn how to ride a motocross bike. i think that the game starts off as a waste of time really. The game needs to be majorly improved and i don't think it will ever reach the point of being where it should be. Some examples of this game sucking ass is when you go around corners, the bike shouldn't just fall over, that's just fucking retarded. People i know wanted this game tried it and they said it was just terrible. My friend is sponsored by KTM and Decal Works and a bunch of other companies and he said the game is shit and that he would never buy it. Now this thread like i said was just to express my thoughts on the game so don't start making gay ass fucking comments trying to sound all cool and shit. If you don't like and don't agree with what i and others think then just leave it alone but if there is others that are frustrated with this game like me and think its a bit of a joke then please explain your thoughts.
BTW I do not suck at this game at all. I just don't like it sometimes

Re: Simulator?
How old were you before you were able to ride a bike?
Did you use training wheels for a year first?
Yea, by the time you got on a motorcycle you had mastered riding a two wheeler, so the transition was easy. You literally have to relearn all of that in order to play this game. Really, it's not that bad. But you do have to want to learn to play it. Not just sit down and shred like Ryan Villopoto...

Re: Simulator?
i started riding when i was 4 and i wasnt using training wheels. Not trying to diss the game but it just frustrates me mainly because the game could be 100% better then it is now.
Haha i started off riding a 1984 honda 50. Big blue seat with the metal gas tank. still got that bike

You just have to take it slowly. When you start riding you aren't going to be able to ride a supercross track.

Re: Simulator?
Well the game is developed buy a one man team. Yes its not perfect yet but it will be. Rider lean to the sides will probably be added soon. and your problem about leaning over too far is your skills that needs work, not the game. and nice that you posted this here where everyone loves the game, Good job! Nice to see that you have some cool friends aswell. Bye bye
Re: Simulator?
MXS do have a pretty steep learning curve, but then again most sims do. But I don't think it takes years to learn how to play, for me it took about a month to have the courage to try out the SX tracks. And by that point I was being lapped after two laps, but now a couple of months later I'm actually able to win a heat or two. Yes the game takes time to learn. And yes its hard, but its a sim, It should be hard. Thats one of the reason people love them, its impressive to see people like Tysen, yzed or Jones ride because you know how much time and practice they have put down the reach that level. The game doesn't take years to learn, but I do think it takes years to master.GoPro_Rider39 wrote:I think that this game is kind of bulls*** in a way. Can you explain this more? Sure its not exactly like riding a real bike, but imo its the closest thing you can come to it sitting infront of a pc.GoPro_Rider39 wrote:but i think this game is nothing at all like riding a real bike.
No, but it take months and years to be good at it. You can learn to go around a track on a real bike and in mxs in an hour. But you are not going to be able to hit a big tripple or pin it through a whoop section. Think about it? How long time do you think it would take a random person to learn how to ride a SX track, hitting every jump and going trough sand and whoops at full speed? A lot longer that it would take to do it in MXS I think.GoPro_Rider39 wrote:It DOES NOT take months to learn how to ride a motocross bike.
Again, please explain more. You can't just sit here saying that it needs to improve without saying what needs to be improved and how. I bet you have never tried coding a game, have no idea about the limitations of the engine or JLV for that matter. (Sry guys but he isn't a god)GoPro_Rider39 wrote:The game needs to be majorly improved and i don't think it will ever reach the point of being where it should be.
The bike never just "falls over" for me, if it does I have done something wrong. I think the same goes for you and your friends that have played it.GoPro_Rider39 wrote:Some examples of this game sucking ass is when you go around corners, the bike shouldn't just fall over

Re: Simulator?
Why so mad?
Keep in mind that it's only 1 guy creating this game, not a full team like those MVA games...
this 1 guy has done what a full teal of experts couldn't do and that's to give US fun in playing a MX game without getting bored after a week...
This game requires us to practice to get fast, unlike MvA where you can do impossible stuff and be fast in 3 days...

Re: Simulator?
The turns are banked in order to use centrifugal/centripetal force to keep you railing while turning. If you are falling over, go faster through the turns. Don't use 3rd person if you want to learn faster(it's a sim, right?). You are also very lucky that JLV has cracked down on the hazing of noobs with such convoluted sounding rants, otherwise you'd be wearing your ass for a hat.

Re: Simulator?
The main thing to learn is to not lean 100%. You are not turning the bars like on MVA games (technically you are but with proper friction and gravity this is how it works) you are leaning. Instead of push the stick all the way left to go left push it about 80-50%. It should help on not washing the front as much because you aren't pushing as hard. Now, once you get that down you should start learning how the bike reacts and learning where you can push through some corners or some tracks.

Re: Simulator?
When you were 4 you probably didn't attempt to hit a berm going over 10mph, and MXS you most likely did (who didn't?). Let alone try clearing ramps and doing whips. Get on a 50 and putt around like you would when you were 4, then maybe you can understand the learning process of this game more.GoPro_Rider39 wrote:i started riding when i was 4 and i wasnt using training wheels.
