My life story

From a very young age I've loved motocross.
Image
I learned how to ride a bicycle at 2 years old, and a dirt bike at 3 years old.
Image
In my early years I definitely did some cool stuff, like race Langtown in Thousand Oaks, CA.

The kid in the very back on the far left is Cole Seely, helping his little brother, Chance.
Image
I eventually got into Quarter Midgets, and although I started off slow, I eventually broke a lot of track records and won a lot of races. My only chance at a regional championship, my dad changed the tires and I qualified in the 30th area, in practice I was .2 tenths quicker than the original track record in my class.

My early days on a RM85 (About 12 years old)

In 2007 I got a little quicker and raced Gold Cup and the LLQs. In my opinion, jumped right into the most stacked class in the recent decade.

In the same year I raced Mammoth, qualified for all my main events except the race where my bike blew up in the semi.. while chasing down 1st.
2007 was also a big year for me since I went from basically all local, to LLQs, Gold Cup, Mammoth, Hot Summer Nights, Taft Arenacross, I rode Supercross with riders like Kyle Cunningham, Cole Seely, and Billy Payne, and raced some AMA Amateur Arenacross rounds.

After 2007, I got a Team Green Kawasaki ride. Right before we were going to buy our new KX250f's, the local dealer didn't buy enough Kawasaki's to be a certified Kawasaki dealer, even though all the Team Green papers were signed. We did have some sick CRF250r's with SX suspension and all, but then they got repo'd because our "Friend" who we bought them from said they were paid off but weren't. Therefore, from Team Green ride, to no Team Green ride, to no bike. I bought a RM125 since it was our other friends girlfriends bike, so I rode that.

Until I broke my legs at a LLQ in Schoolboy 1 (In a qualifying position)
Image
When I got back riding from that, I was on a Thousand Oaks Yamaha supermini and 125. Unfortunately we never had enough money to race any big races. Then I broke both my wrists, then I kept breaking my wrist.
Image
I rode my Thousand Oaks YZ125 for a while, until it really held me back in the B class against 250fs.

After my wrist injury, I was riding a Cal-Coast YZ250f and 450. I was always fast, but got bad starts and got arm pump in the races. Therefore, no solid results.

Then I dislocated my shoulder, and never really got back to 100%

Ever since I met my girlfriend 7/8/2011 I've ridden once, my family life has gone to shit, and I started raging at MX Sim in all my spare time. I just graduated, but I have no job/license/car. Once I get my license and a job, I'll save up for a truck, and a bike, then hopefully get racing again.

Haters gonna hate,
Devin Davis

You have a lot of good pictures of yourself riding. I'm jelly.

It sucks that all of that stuff went down at a crucial part of your potential career. When I got hurt, I was racing C class and beating guys that got top 10 from Loretta's that year. Would've been cool to go.

Made my fuckin night. Put to shame the joy I got from making fun of this chick that was "mature beyond her years."

I actually enjoyed reading all of this. Don't take that the wrong way, I don't mean I enjoyed reading the part where you stopped racing; I just enjoyed the whole story from the beginning to the end.

The first thing I thought was, "cool story, bro" then next was, this kind of post is typically for you devin,
but after i read it, i must say, its very well made! you are talkin about your true life. seems legit! haha
All i can say is, maybe some guys see you with different eyes now.
Good luck in the future, I know that it sucks beeing hurt again and again, and how hard it is to come back to racing and compete with some of the best.
I wish you all luck! :)
