"There is obviously a modified frame, whole new subframe and a new exhaust. The exhaust header is similar to the ones FMF invented and it wraps around the cylinder.
The motor is based on the 2010-2013 Motor.
The new gastank has no tank cap, which was moved to the underside of the gastank."
Thanks for the translation! I think it looks pretty good and I'm curious to learn how it handles. I've never been a fan of the way the yami's felt. Maybe the redesigned frame will help some.
Forget the Yamaha, check out the new Honda CRF250 I love seeing the photos on Transworld from the Japanese championship, they always have the sickest looking bikes!
Yea I don't really see how that new gas cap idea will work if it's actually on the bottom, aside from flipping the bike upside down and filling it up...
How are you supposed to fill a gas tank with the cap on the bottom? A weird looking sub frame too, the lower spar is moved way up on the frame, and the upper spar is moved down. Kinda wish they would have kept a similar shape to the old side plates, but just with less curve, they do look like a copy of the old Honda/new Kawasaki rear plastics now..

I think they just use this "wonder" gastank on their factory bikes for now, if not someone in the yamaha develop group must have been drunk as he invented that gastank
I just hope that this bike feels more like the old yamahas or the 2 stroke yamahas, than their actual tractor.
oh and, they should pay FMF some dollars for their exhaust header idea, if they havent been the first ones doing it, then they should just pay them for nothing, hell I LOVE FMF!
It's actually a shame that still only ktm has an electric starter. Back in the days they got laughed at, because reducing weight was everything. And the first electric startes was around an extra 5kilo.
But look at what they have now, a less then 1kg system where ppl can win a lot of points with. How often does it happen that somebody crashes and has to kick his bike for a couple of seconds before they can get going again? IF they ever get going again. While with a ktm you can even stall your bike before a corner and start it while railing a berm.
It doesn't look cool, but it's something that in my eyes every bike needs. Racing is about winning time where ever you can. So also if something goes wrong it's the plan to be as fast as possible.

Was looking at it with my dad and I didn't even notice that both sides of the sub-frame are different because the pipe is there. Must take the seat off, or that black piece in front the seat off to fill.

I agree with the electric start idea and I'm pretty sure the cap is under the foam just in front of the seat there. Keep in mind that its backwards as fuck so the air filters up front.
