It's a lot more interesting to watch in real life because you can watch the whole field, whereas when you watch it on tv you have to watch what the camera is showing you. Been a while since I went to a game in real life....

Just to specify, I've been to football games, just not NFL.

I played in High School.

They need it though, they tackle head first most times on the big hits. You don't normally see head tackles/collisions in AFL but when they do they so get fucked up!

But these guys get hit 10x harder.

Yeah I knew you were talking about never going to a pro game.

I've been to a few KC Chiefs games and their training camp once. I got to go down and stand on the edge of the field next to the SD Chargers D line warming up.

I'm not small, at 6-2 or 6-3. These guys towered over me, and could clearly have picked me up, twirled me around, and tossed me 25 rows up in the stands with little effort. You don't truly appriciate how big NFL players are until you stand next to one of em.

Also, don't overlook going to a college football game at a BCS university. I've been to many University of Iowa games, and the atmosphere is incredible. I dont' think the pro games can hold a candle to it. The way 70,000 or so people react when the home team makes a big hit, gets an interception, scores a long TD, or when the other team has 3rd and short, is pretty undescribable.

AFL has become a lot more soft over the years. Research some of the older games in the 80's etc. It was much tougher back then.
