YO YO. I have a project going on and a goal....
Bought a 2001 CR500 even tho i had a 1998 CR500 already...
I am going to make this bike looks stock and brand new...

Pictures to come. My plans are pretty simple. I want to powder coat frame, sub frame, engine cover. clean, grease and replace any worn out/scratched parts. From want i can see will be half the plastics, shroud decals, front pads, tires and chain/sprockets maybe if i can (money). the bike was missing the countershaft guard and front brake guard.

The bike is very very runnable now, but i ride very hard with my buddies. so i am not in a rush to hit mud with it...
My 1998 is still running and may use semi worn parts from the 2001...

please do not be impatient for pictures because they are coming, any comments welcome.

hehe, Kawasaki and Honda, or better said AF BigBores Coniston Sarl Moto Import Make 500cc bike's in a 250cc frame.
Just order it and you have to w8 8 weeks (becouse all bike's are hand made) and you've got your 500cc 2Stroke.

That's why I like it when America (where the parts come form) and Europe (where the idea come's from + the factory is) works together :D

Well the big job is almost over, the frame is apart, gone to get powdercoated. I will get it back in a couple of days. It will be white. I was ganna go get some honda parts, but im still debating on what to get.
The old plastics are oem but scratched/old but I had time to get some scratches out of it today. so Im probly ganna skip the new plastic. To get the scratches off the plastic surface i waxed it with clear ordinary candle wax and scrapped the surfaces with a nice old hunting knife. worked pretty good, im ganna get some fine sanding paper and try to make it even better..

So for OEM honda parts im ganna get, pink carbuator lines, new shroud graphic (2001). honda frame neck wing. front brake plastic. countershaft plastic cover... more next time

I will open the carb to see the jets. take reeds off to see piston, exhaust too. paint the exhaust with 1500degree flat black header paint, put the stock silencer (hockey stick) back on. install works connection frame guard. more...

So far everything has been going well.

I got a couple of goodies from OEM Honda today, but some of the order i made was back ordered and has to be shipped from far away. Here is a pic of what the bike looked like the day after i bought it, As you can see, its missing the front brake cover and the drive gear cover.. stock silencer and OEM 2001 cr500 shroud stickers. witch all are going back on... Ganna be sweet as fuck!!!! The suspension on this is so much better than my 1998. speed for speed i was flying on this thing.
The bike will stay stored inside for the next year, i have no space right now. The expansion chamber got a fresh coat of flat black header paint. to finish it off i will probably buy frame guards. tires/chain/sprockets too...not in a rush tho.. stay tuned.

Ok i got some stuff from honda today, (decals). here they are,
I have no place to built the bike, So i am going to keep on riding my 1998 cr500 till i use its current chain/sprocket/tires.
Then im going to use the chain sprocket tires from the 2001. after im going to strip the 1998 and use it as a parts bike. and built the 2001 with new tires ...chain.. sprockets... in a year or 2. who knows...CR500 FOR EvER < PEACE> :D  :P 8)
