2014 YZ250,YZ250f,YZ450f Recall

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

I was not trying to be a douchebag, I was just stating my opinion. I could not find anything about it online and that is why I said it.

Awesome bought a 250f a few weeks ago, and now I'm bringing it back.

You might not have to. I remember back in 2001 kawasaki had a similar recall on a cotter pin. They spec'd an aluminum pin and it was prone to breaking so they swapped it out to a steel one mid production, but tons were recalled to be swapped out. In that case kawi was more than willing just to hand over a new pin.
From the sounds of this, it might just be the M/L that is the issue; if true then you might just need to bring in the old M/L or chain and they should swap it out. correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that yamaha would require the dealers to need the bike to take care of this issue.

Yes most likely they will send dealers enough parts to fix all the units they have sold or have in stock.

Sorry for dp! Then the dealer can give the part to the end user or replace it for them.

There's no issue. Chains break all the time, I've never been hurt by one although they do cause the odd issue. Just get a new chain, problem solved. This is hardly a rip on Yamaha.

sorry bud, but any bike will snap under a harsh enough hit .... plus I've seen KTM take some hard hits.

Funnily enough, that bike only took a hard hit because it locked up going up the jump.

No they're pretty well known for it[/quote]

Well known for the "frame" breaking is also very ignorant bro. Honda frames used to "break" because they made them too stiff. However KTM frames rarely break or crack. they are flexible and much less likely to have a problem, like this-http://www.off-road.com/images/content/ ... 2-6-11.jpg or this- http://www.racerxcanada.com/images/061009_MB/14.JPG or this-http://www.racerxcanada.com/images/061007_MB/24.JPG or this-http://fullmonte.smugmug.com/photos/651 ... 2JgA-M.jpg .......... SO now that you're sitting there with your thumb up your ass going "what the hell happens to KTMs then????" well the answer is simple, they use an alloy steering head on the triple clamp. BUT If I am correct they do not anymore, or at least I dont think so on my new 250. So you have and had no clue what you're talking about, and therefore your argument is invalid.

So the total seems to be... One broken thirty year old bike, one bike that was involved in a head-on collision between pro riders, one cracked frame where the swingarm bearings seized, and one actual picture of a snapped bike that wasn't KTM? Alrighty then.

You obviously don't come here often.

So you won't buy a Yamaha because the $20 chain has a chance of breaking??
Yet KTM's which were extremely common for breaking some 5 years ago, you will buy in a heart beat?
