Whats your pc?

Well that sucks, I'll have to mess around with it and see.

Granted last I played was a few weeks ago, they could have released a patch for it by now.yzmxer608 wrote:Well that sucks, I'll have to mess around with it and see.
It sucks that multi GPU setups have fallen to that level of support but looking at the original video posted it makes sense. Our $1000+ GPU setups can be beaten by $200-350 price point of a single card. If they can put that much power into 1 card why get a second? I'm super interested in what Vega/Volta have to offer in the coming months with the new memory type/smaller chip it will be another leap over what is currently out which is what is strongly pushing me towards a ITX setup. I like my larger case but I've also grown to appreciate my ever shrinking desk space. Being able to hold an more power and all watercooled in a tiny box compared to the massive 2ftx2ftx1ft I have would be a welcome change.

So, it continues lol.

The first release of the Kaby Lake (Z270) lineup is an OC'able i3. Its $180 so like locked i5 territory but this one is an outlier in price. Prices stay relatively the same with i3's being lower $100 and i5s being closer to $200. Its performance though is crazy. Its Cinebench benchmarks singlecore performance beats an i7 2600k and 3770k, beats a i5 2500k in multicore. Gaming not OC'd ties an i5 2500k and ties a i7 2600k when OC'd.

So Nvidia only officially supports dual sli on the new cards now right? If one wanted to could you still use more for things like rendering where they don't need to be in sli?

Re: Whats your pc?
So if i buy a graphics card like the radeon rx 460 4gb or the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4gb that gets its power from the mobo, would i need to upgrade the power supply just yet?
Thanks again for your guys input!

Re: Whats your pc?
Yeah its game support stops with dual but its up to the game developers if they want to support it further. This is a good video going through games and showing the various levels of support.yzmxer608 wrote:So Nvidia only officially supports dual sli on the new cards now right? Most likely, no. The way power from the motherboard works is through the PCI connector (the slot the card fits into) it is supplied 75w. The PSU will still need to be big enough to power the CPU/MB/GPU and the GPU/MB power will be shared through the larger 24pin connector. Because you wouldn't require another connector its very unlikely that the power draw wouldn't already be available. Minimum of like a 350-400w PSU should be able to carry a full PC and supply a self sufficient GPU.MorganMX124 wrote:So if i buy a graphics card like the radeon rx 460 4gb or the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4gb that gets its power from the mobo, would i need to upgrade the power supply just yet?

Re: Whats your pc?
Bought Bf1 a couple days ago, game is awesome. My 4460 is bottlenecking my 470. On TDM i can play all ultra (1920x1080 of course) and get about 60-75fps, both cpu and are at 100% usage. Playing conquest (64p, larger maps), my cpu is always 100% and my gpu is about 75-80%. i have to put med settings and get 70-80fps. Probably gonna buy a used 4790/4790k. Next friday i'm gunna "mod" my case, after i'll send some photos.
I5 4460 @3.2Ghz (Stock), 8Gb Ram (4x2) HyperX Fury @1600 mhz, H81M Plus, XFX RX 470 4Gb Black Edition, Corsair VS650w, Apevia X-Hermes (soon 750D)
Re: Whats your pc?
Its weird cuz my 4590 + gtx 1060 6gb is perfect for bf1 (70-80 fps minimum on conquest 64)

Re: Whats your pc?
Okay, so I bought a 1tb secondary drive to replace my 250gb secondary drive. Can I just copy my files over to there, or do I need to use a program to migrate all the files?

Re: Whats your pc?
If they are both plugged in you can just drag and drop what you want. Most likely will need to rename the drive location to be D:/, etc. whatever the old 250 was called for file paths.

I also have a problem with moving my OS to my SSD. I've tried 2 different cloners with it. One says that bootmgr is missing when I try to boot, the other doesn't even recognize that it has an OS on it. Tried repairing the one with the bootmgr error, but no luck.

I am like 95% sure that you need to actually install your OS to the drive rather than cloning your existing boot disk.

Re: Whats your pc?
I wonder if I can create a system image on the SSD, then boot from the image.

Re: Whats your pc?
The way a SSD and HDD store things is technically different. If you are having issues with it its most likely because of that reason. Reinstall Windows then transfer over data.
