That isn't really true. Completely different platforms. The HEDT platform is about 10% behind in IPC from z590 and cannot keep up with clock speeds. The way you make HEDT work is high memory speeds and overclocking the core while leaving some room to run the mesh as high as possible.TeamHavocRacing wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 4:21 amThe bigger die on the 10900x with more space between cores is already an advantage. No delidding and prolly no more than 10% OC is my goal.

Still not worried. Not gonna be a pursuer of .00002% more. I'll upgrade as time allows.

Still looking to see if this is gonna be an issue!
CPU i9-10900X SRGV7 3.70GHZ L029G104 M02E3M4101028
Here they are.... MoBo P.N. 90MB11A0-MOAAY0 S.N. LCMQFM144286XJ5I have an X299-E Gaming II and i9 10900X and heard about an incompatibility with bios and 10th gen i9. Does anybody know if they solved that? I can't afford a 9th gen just to flash the bios lol.
Here's what I saw..."Warning! Some Intel X299 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Cascade Lake-X CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."

Re: Whats your pc?
If it's a prebuilt that already has Windows loaded on the drive then the manufacturer has already done this step.
The CPU fits in the socket but the board was never told to read that model chip. It needs the update to be able to boot. If it's able to boot then you are good.

Re: Whats your pc?
It's not a pre-built. I didn't see any indication of the incompatibility until I entered all the components on pc parts picker. Lucky I have a friend with a computer store!
