Meanwhile I'm over here in class making this shit. Not even sure what its supposed to be, I just suck at Illustrator. It's weird, I'm so comfortable in Photoshop then I open Illustrator and its like everything is in Japanese.

It's more down to the amount of time you put into using it. Like when you started using PS you would of been the same but now you have learn't what all the tools and shit do then you go to Ai and they just move shit everywhere and change icons of shit. It is confusing for sure, personally i don't see why they don't have plugin or something to let you make vectors in PS but then i guess that would hurt there Ai sales.

Been able to do so in photoshop since like cs3 i think, just no where near as powerful as the tools in illustrator. As far as graphic design work goes, once you learn illustrator, you'll begin to dislike photoshop. It's just suited to that workflow, clue being in the name. Using the two together though is really handy for things such as skinning.

Badass stuff guys. I want to get into Illustrator. Could you recommend any videos that maybe you used to learn?

this guy defintely helps with teaching you the fundamentals of the pen tool

also just going thru his tutorials and trying out his shading techniques definitely helped figure out different way to make something subtly detailed

I am trying to make a line in the middle of the text with the blend tool. Not working how it should. Anything I'm doing wrong, or a different way to do it?

You could select one of the paths and offset it.
Object > Path > Offset Path.
