350 Make like a bazillions-1 horsepowerz, compared to the 450's bazillions, and weigh less than the others, sold.

It actually weighs more than the KTM 450. KTM did a really good marketing job with that. I have heard they are pretty impressive power wise, but honestly it still isn't a 450 no matter what.

They are all good bikes it all depends what you don't like and what color you do like. For instance, I am against air forks.. which is why I'm on Yamaha's. Some people, that doesn't bother them. The KTM's have the 4cs... my experience with them they take a lot of effort to make work, others don't feel a difference. It just depends what you can see yourself riding.

I have ridden a 16 450 Yami (dad just got one), they are pretty wicked. I haven't ridden any other 16 450, but I did ride the KTM 250 and to me, being a lankier person, I felt it was really small of a bike. But man was that thing unbelievably fast for a stock 250.

Yami obviously. Unless you wanna be "cool" and ride a 350 cause its so cool and stuff.

Mine is sick. But its a 15. The 16 yami won the Dirt Rider shootout again, if that means anything to you.

It's sad how much the Yamaha and Suzuki still weigh. With the KTM and Kawasaki both having pretty much new bikes it's hard not to over look them. The Yamaha may have the spring forks, but the bike is as wide as a boat at the front shrouds and the bike is the 2nd heaviest in class. I'm still not sure if they even fixed the handling woes of the backwards engine platform (Offset on triples was increased for 16). The Yami does have an awesome motor though. If it was me it would be green or orange unless you really dislike airforks or WP. If you could test ride any of them would be the best option IMO.

Courtesy MXA (Weight with no fuel):

2016 KTM 350SX-F: 226 pounds
2016 KTM 450SX-F: 227 pounds
2016 Kawasaki KX450F: 231 pounds
2016 Honda CRF450: 233 pounds
2016 Yamaha YZ450F: 238 pounds
2016 Suzuki RM-Z450: 240 pounds

I ride a 350 now, not sure why you are against them but I got one since I only weighed ~130 pounds at the time. I have since then (8 months ago) gained about 40 pounds with the help of an amazing girl so my dad asked what I felt about trying a 450.

Google answers lied to me, they said it was 221 dry weight vs 224 I think it was. You are right though, I was just too lazy to leave google. :lol

You get used to the width pretty quickly. I found it makes it easier to grip the bike with your legs though. Not sure about the handling woes, i know the magazines complain about it pushing. Im sure im not as fast as them, but the bike always goes where i aim it.

Get in touch with Ralf Schmidt from TM USA, the 450 TM steers like a maniac and has the same amount of power as any other 450 on the market. Except for the Yamaha's, those powerbands are insane  .

If you do, say hi from Frederik from Belgium xD.

It's strange the YZ450F weighs so much. The YZ250F is the lightest 250F I think, not sure what they are doing wrong with the 450.
