Political Debate Thread

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

No Ben! No! Do you really believe a high-level analyst is going to be coming on Imgur and disclosing all of this shit? You've got to be less gullible than that man! When they give something to WikiLeaks then I'll believe it, but even that stuff could be faked.

It almost seems like we need to be voting for vice presidents rather than presidents. With how many people both Trump and Hillary have pissed off, I would almost be surprised if someone does not attempt to assassinate them in the first year of their presidency

Nevertheless it was a fun and interesting read! If 100% true, maybe not so fun..

This isn't posted on Imgur...it's a screencap of a thread on 4chan, which is a website quoted in this article at time of said site's sale as the following:
"4chan is home to the infamous “anything goes” image board known as /b/, known for its hodgepodge of porn, racism and disturbing imagery. And yet few sites have had a larger impact on web culture than 4chan since it was launched in 2003. It gave the world “lolcats” and brought the nightmarish figure of Pedobear into the popular imagination. It served as the incubator for hacktivist group Anonymous and spawned the open source Skype alternative Tox. And if you’ve ever been rickrolled, you have 4chan to blame."
Point being, it's still sketchy - but not unbelievable given what has happened in American politics in the past 12 months, which is a point unto itself.

What you're witnessing in this thread is exactly what is wrong, and is what I was trying hard to avoid a month-or-so ago when having discussions in this thread. There is no longer a discussion, no one is willing to accept that there may be some virtue in the opposing point of view's perspective - it's a zero-sum game. Both sides are saying ridiculous things, I will stand by that. Problem is, all anyone wants to do is attack and point out how dumb the other side is. There is a reason both sides believe as strongly as they do, but that's a moot point without either side being willing to at least listen and consider why the people on said other side would think what they do - and not in a demeaning way.

This isn't a mxs forum thing, it's nation wide. People won't listen to reason, they're always right, and everyone else is always a racist/bigoted/bought-off/etc. moron incapable of seeing what's right in front of them. I would like to have thought there was a time when people actually talked about what could be helpful rather than blaming everyone else for what is harmful...but maybe that's me being naive.

The election is rigged. Except for when Trump gets nominated or is leading in the polls. Even the Republican Ohio Secretary of State who is still voting for Trump said that it was irresponsible and not true to say it's rigged. Well alrighty then. He's such a crybaby sore loser that he wants Saturday Night Live cancelled. Okay. Something he himself said was a feather in his cap and that it's a special thing. I really can't wait to see this final debate that's already rigged.

You satirically saying the election is rigged as if it's completely outside the realm of logic is just as irresponsible as stating it is rigged don't you think? Is it really not possible? I'm not saying it is going to be rigged or is already rigged, but I'm not going to be completely blind to questionable evidence and say that it's not possible. Let's be honest, there is some has been some pretty questionable things these last 6 months that have gone down.

I will agree that Trump is too hung up on this "rigged" election claim and he does sound like a baby though.

Should we place bets if in this last debate they bring up Benghazi or anything about the emails and/or server at all? Or will they now have 3 moderators to debate Trump with Hillary?

Why don't they bring up Whitewater and the Vince Foster scandal? Google that. Another thing is that the Bill Clinton sex scandals all seem to center around consensual sex, so it's hard to hit back with those. The election in 2000 was pretty damn fishy, with all the subterfuge surrounding "hanging chad" ballots and with what was obviously voter intimidation in Florida and considering how badly the Bush Administration was salivating to get to war. Hindsight really helps clarify a perspective after the fact. I think the stuff that's being revealed in the WikiLeaks is really not that explosive or earthshaking politically speaking. There's plenty of politicians that have two views , one public and one private. A private view has nothing to do with helping out the lobbyists and the big donors that got you there. If the Donald doesn't keep self-destructing he might be able to gain back some ground.

Well depends... if you listen to CNN the emails aren't a big deal. I'm not even sure if they will tell you the full truth on the emails.. considering they warn their viewers it's illegal for us to posses and read these hacked documents released by Wiki Leaks.. but it's different for the media... therefore we should just get our info about them through them. :?

Steven Crowder goes over the highlights pretty well:

Normally I wouldn't use a youtube source for credible information, but Crowder usually is pretty fair and in many of his video's he provides sufficient sources to what he says. And in this day in media... who know's what is credible anymore.

The wikileaks email releases had me thinking - how great would it be to read similar emails from the Trump campaign? Not saying this as a defense of Hillary or attack on Trump, just genuinely interested to read those. Of all the crazy shit he says, what is strategy and what is just rambling? What are his advisors saying to him about all of that stuff? What are they saying to each other about him? Would be one hell of a story, that's for sure, and would help to answer a lot of questions about the inner-workings of his campaign that don't make a lot of sense at times...at least to me.

That would pretty interesting. Given the reaction on Hillary's weak server from the right, I think republicans are a step above basement servers though so itll probably not happen. (It's a joke calm down)

They should just release both sides hacked data en masse. Then disseminate them and see who plays dirtier.
