2017 AMA National Numbers

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

That's just a coincidence, if it was number 47 or something then it would be weird, but typically 17 was the lowest number available other than 13 so yeah, usually someone who was hauling ass the year before would run 17 then go on to win the title.

Webb with #2 is like Baggett with #4, a bunch of talk when announced and no one cares now. It'll be cool to see #2 on a Yamaha again instead of a Honda or Kawi though.

Lol you asshead, if anyone deserved it, it was Webb.
lol, he hasn't done a thing in the premiere class yet (not including MXoN) so I wouldn't say he deserves it, but he is really fast. I've just heard quite a few things about how he is as a person and I'm not a fan.

No one took 8 or 9? Makes sense no one took 13, motocross riders are a superstitious bunch.

Webb was the only one that could have taken 2, 8, or 9. In the end he was thinking about 2 or 8, but he decided to go with 2.

Also Forkner was the only one that could have taken 13, but he chose to skip it so he could get 24 (his amateur number was 214, so it makes sense that he wanted 24).

That's actually really weird... I think every year since Barcia's last 250 title has seen a 250 supercross championship with number 17 except 2013
Yup.

And Savatgy will almost definitely keep that trend going in 2017, either in SX, Outdoors, or both. Why have no 450 guys been getting 17? Lol

Because all the top 450 guys already have career numbers.

Off topic from numbers, but I'm putting together a brochure for class and I realized there's 17 former champions that will be racing in the 450 class next year.

Ryan Dungey (4x)
James Stewart (4x)
Chad Reed (3x)
Cooper Webb (2x)
Justin Barcia (2x)
Christophe Pourcel (2x)
Jason Anderson (1x)
Ken Roczen (1x)
Eli Tomac (1x)
Broc Tickle (1x)
Jake Weimer (1x)
Malcolm Stewart (1x)
Marvin Musquin (1x)
Justin Bogle (1x)
Trey Canard (1x)
Davi Millsaps (1x)
Wil Hahn (1x - If he doesn't retire)

and this excludes guys like Cole Seely, Blake Baggett, Josh Grant, Weston Peick, Dean Wilson, etc.

(Titles are combined East/West/450)

Baggett should be counted if outdoors counted too :) Didn't Deano win one too?
