2017 Supercross Discussion

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

no stewart will be on a geico bike. stamp it.

They barely gave him parts to go race oversees.

I agreed with MotoXaddicts when they said that it seemed a little fishy or odd that they would post two pictures of the brothers with a generic caption. I would like to see something between them. That would be a good amount of sponsors behind them as well, Red Bull, Honda?, Ride365, Seven. We shall learn soon

I agree. It is weird.i don't think they can afford the Stewart's though, and if all outside sponsors are from the brothers why would they even need to join the team instead of going solo

I don't think it's about the money, but the infrastructure that was already in place and a place for Honda to house their equipment. From a rig to crew to mechanics and what not, it takes a lot of time and money to put those people in place. I think you'll see something similar on another Honda team too... a couple of riders with direct factory support housed in another team that already has an established infrastructure. The 450 guys will likely start the season on 2016 bikes/parts and move to 2017 stuff as the season moves along and more parts become available.

The MotoXAddicts post was the second time I'd heard the Crossland team thing and know James was shopping with atleast one other team for a similar setup. I'm not saying it's done, but it's definitely plausible.

agreed. would make it easier. But someone needs to front the bill, so who is that? and agreed again, but adding 2 high profile 450 riders and them most likely start on 16s then switch to 17 mid season is sketchy, and are they going to be SX only again? Mookie loves outdoors on the 450 but Bubba, not sure if he even wants to race it.

That team pulled out of outdoors last year so SX only isn't a team issue. I know James liked the 16 Honda, so perhaps they stay on it all year with option of 17 as season goes on.

Deal is likely Honda provides bikes, team provides transport, entries, and bonuses, and base salary is from personal sponsors.

All just guesses on that deal.

GuyB outbid Red Bull for James' helmet deal today, so expect to see him sporting the beautiful Vital MX logo on his lid no matter what team he is on. :P

According to Awood. Selly is a 7th - 10th place guy. i dont agree with him but whatever
I think Selly is gonna have his best 450 year in the 2017 season.

full healthy field full season, Seely will not top 5 points.

people faster than seely,

Roczen
Dungey
Tomac
Webb
Barcia
Anderson
.....

thats 6. that leaves seely 7-10 if everyone finishes how they should.

Barcia is not faster than seely and thats for sure. i think anderson is a bit faster but when you start 15th every race hes not gonna catch back up to the top guys.

Seely can beat any of those guys you listed if he's feeling comfortable.

That is, if he's feeling comfortable.

"any of those guys"

We're saying, if everyone rides "comfortable", how they should. Straight up race, everyone riding how they should and healthy, Seely isnt getting top 5 in that situation.

I know how fast Cole can ride. If he can battle with them when he's not feeling good, he can beat them when he's feeling good.
