2 of my friends and myself will go in February to Socal for some riding.
Can you guys give us any advice where to buy a used bike or maybe rent one?

You can book everything there. You get an apartment,bikes and you can also go on some freeride tours in the hills and can do anything
If Supercross is around you can also buy Tickets from/with them (Not sure on that one tho).
And since you are from Austria you can perfectly communicate with the owner because he is german
