MCM Factory relaunch!

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Andy_Hack wrote:That was the thing with MvA, in my opinion the best track editor you could ask for, the only thing i missed the most was the support of HD textures/disp maps. I love how easy to use it was, literally everyone could make tracks and we had lots of amazing low poly but yet detailed object packs (like 95% by albertsx65 haha), oh well, I could go on and on, the amount of tracks i made was unreal, because it was literally that easy.
Maybe I'm just lazy, but if the MvA editor was usable in MX Sim, I would still be making a track a week

I am genuinely curious about this, I have been building tracks for MvA unleashed since 2016(I know, kinda missed the boat but that is why none of them have been released) and have been a regular browser of sites like MCM factory and pure mxs(when it was online) since 2015. What I want to know is, am I the only one that still builds tracks for these old games? Once the website has relaunched I am going to be releasing tracks for MvA Unleashed for the first time even though the game is 13 years old, are any of you OG's that still come around every once and a while going to be booting up a classic to make new tracks/remaster old favourites?

I could try and put WW Ranch in MVA. I'd have to figure everything out again though. Can't remember how to use multiex anymore. Anyone got some tutorials?

I'd love to reinstall MVA and ride all of the old tracks I used to play all the time.

I have a question for the people that owned this game much longer than me. Was there always a problem with playing this game on laptops? I have had this game since 2015 and the stock tracks have never worked on my laptop. Is this a windows ten problem? Am I just somehow doing something terribly wrong? Custom tracks work perfectly fine and the game has never crashed upon launching one but I have never been able to play the stock tracks. I remember playing this game on a friends PC back in like 2008(note I was only like 7 at this point) and all the tracks worked perfectly fine. If anyone has a fix for this or can confirm this game doesn't work on laptops for some reason I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time :D

Have you tried getting one of these tracks into sim? I have never made a track in mcm so I don’t know if it’s possible. Would be pretty dope to get the scaling correct then just have to touch them up.

The main problem with them is their disps were small resolution, so scaling them for use in sim would result in a lot of pixelation that might not work out too good when smoothed. I know there were some tracks that were made with a method that used the different terrain tiles that would result in an 'HD' displacement, but that wasn't common.

I think I might still have Multiex, but I'd need to mess around for a while before I remembered how to use it. I still have MvA installed, and mcm2 on my laptop.

It's not just you, I loved making tracks for MvA, but I never really liked the Sim Editor, I mean it's got a couple good features, but it can't hold a candle against the Unleashed Editor.

MultiEx is actually quite easy, shouldn't take too long to get used to it again without tutorials. Same with Milkshape and all the other programs we used.

Actually putting MvA disp maps in Sim isn't too bad, I mean it gets pixelated, but you can smooth that out with ease and reshape the jumps and everything else. The main thing is to get the original base to work from.

REV was honestly the worst thing that ever happened to MvAU, the REV physics were so off, I honestly still question myself if the creator of these physics ever touched a dirtbike.
