Transfer OS to ssd

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Transfer OS to ssd

I was wondering if anyone knew how to transfer your os to a ssd I have searched google for ways and I have downloaded the programs but I run into the problem of I have to much storage on my hdd and not my ssd so I can transfer over any help would be welcomed.

Why are you doing a transfer instead of reinstalling the OS? Unplug the HDD so it only recognizes the SSD and do a fresh install, plug the HDD back in and bring over the files you want manually after that. SSD and HDD's have different storage sizes and techniques so doing a 1 for 1 transfer won't really get the full use of an SSD. If you need to do cloning for backup reasons or something I'd use CloneZilla.
