Has this become the Rd. 4 thread?

Life is a conspiracy, pull your socks up and deal with it...

Re: 2013 MotoOption SX Series presented by FLY Racing Rnd 3
This this this this. I don't know what class I am, I don't have a license...I don't even know how to get one. To everyone out there, that automatically qualifies me as a noob...like the dude yelling at me yesterday for not moving during a blue flag even though I was already rhythming a tech section and thus can't just air brake or stop my rhythm; literally, 1 blue flag out of 3 and I get flamed...I didn't even cause the guy to crash, just held him from his "perfect" line. Funny thing is that after he raged at me for being a noob...I whooped his ass by 30+ seconds the very next race along with everyone else that is "pro." It garnered some pretty funny reactions from the other people when I apologized for not moving while getting lapped during that race...oh, that's rightbob117 wrote:everyone is way to impatient. if everyone would just chill out a tad, racing would be better for everyone. especially on the first lap. its crazy how many dumb fucks there are that try and throw block passes in the first few corners and collect everyone. BRAKE. its works alot better then crashing. this game is hard enough without us smashing each other..

But as Bob points out above - everyone in this game (especially the "pros") just try and throw block passes/thread the needle at every opportunity. It's absolutely ridiculous...they see someone and their instinct is to pass at all costs IMMEDIATELY rather than lining up a pass over the next couple of corners. While I may not be able to throw the insane hot laps (usually about 3-5 seconds off of the big guys) I feel I'm a much better rider than most of these "pros" who ironically are the ones who do nothing but bitch in channel and frustrate everyone. And to sweeny for saying man up to most of y'all....ya, man up. This game doesn't have perfect physics and as such expecting a perfect race from everyone is just silly. On top of that, lappers are a problem and you can only expect them to be able to do so much to get out of your way...just like in real life. Blue flag does not mean pull off the track, turn off your bike and pass out high fives to those flying by.

One point on behalf of the Pro's, we don't trust anyone. We want to get by the slower riders as fast as we can for fear of them crashing in front of us. I guess it turns into instinct after a while. When racing with people similar speed (even if it's 2-3 seconds a lap slower) and they are consistent, then it's much easier to setup clean passes and not just worry about them crashing in front of you (because following the slower rider's line is what you're supposed to do right?).
As far as when qualifying, a lot of the fast riders are inconsistent just because they are pushing so hard, and don't really care about where they finish that race (ie hate it when people battle you).

Phoenix, Anaheim 2 and Oakland, i think I've been taken out once, literally once. That's amazing with racing other PRO/As. Basically what Nate said, but I don't waste my time racing most other riders, not all... but most.
@rsbdotexe: You need to watch more races dude, this game is at it's most competitive state. We freight train each other so close and in such a big pack, we lose 3 - 8 positions in only One crash,It just happened to me today. Hell to win you can't really fall of anymore!
And not to mention, that was the most carnage I've seen all year and it was just us jumping into each other where the rhythm line was jumping around 2 corners!!!

For sure. I definitely get both sides of the coin. If anyone has rode on Oakland it's pretty clear that when one falls....a bunch do. It's such a tight track that pileups happen constantly. What's frustrating is that when one person falls and others inevitably run into them causing a pileup, people just start flaming chat trying to pin the blame on something. There is nothing to pin the blame on - I've been playing MXS for years and if there is one thing that I can absolutely count on it's that someone will be down on the track and you will have to try and dodge them and you will fail at that quite a bit. It's just really annoying to have those people who think they're better than everyone else and thus anyone below them should just "gtfo." If they really want to make a change why don't they try and come up with a better way to run everything and get in touch with those in charge? That seems like a much better solution than just filling chat up with rage, getting mad at people and then purposefully following them around trying to take them out just to get "revenge."
It's really funny though - sometimes I have a bad race and then people just assume I blow and should leave. Anyone on here who has raced with me more than a couple times knows that I keep it clean as much as possible. The most fun/excitement I get from this game is when I'm racing someone and we're constantly trading spots and setting up passes.....the least fun I have is when a-holes just "block pass" (horrible name for that move in this game btw) which actually means "I run into your front tire with my back and take you out haha" o.O

Yeah, it's few and far between the people that actually try to race clean instead of just hot lapping every lap, and have that their goal even if it isn't qualifying (don't get me wrong, I like to get fast laps on random races, but racing people is fun too).rsbdotexe wrote:For sure. That reminds me, I think I have a demo from last year sometime of a random 03 race with who I think was Mcbroom, was probably some of the closest clean battling I've done!

It used to be called sportsmanship. I call it "Gentlemen Racing". Despite all the rage against me, I love clean, close racing. Too many kids interpret "Rough passing allowed" as "Open Season". Give 'em an inch, they take a light-year.

Thing is currently rough passing normally means you either fall down slowly or get pushed the opposite way you're turning with the force of an elephant
.
