While I can't say that I had much of a difference in "feeling" of the traction, if you did, then this would make sense. Had a similar oddity with those retro sx tracks - traction that has been used for series in the past, but felt way different - and I think someone who new better than I (Barrington, maybe?) confirmed if was probably because of the slope/angle/linearity of the berms.

If nothing else, maybe the more linear berms were to add difficulty to the 3-in's out of corners? Obviously the more cupped out berms get, the more speed you can carry, the farther you can jump out of corners. I honestly don't know if that was on purpose (I'd learn toward no?), but I get your and Devin's point. I would probably prefer bowled out berms, but I also like how there is a bit of variation from track to track and mostly just try to ride what's there. I can see how it might be frustrating for you guys who are faster and are used to a certain style, though.

AWood wrote:Basically. Cup the berms. Right now, trying to jump as far as possible out of a 180 consists of going to the top middle of the berm and cutting down and seeing if we can get the drive. In real life, and how it should be. You rail the edge closest to the bales.

They need to be cupped, and bowled. Right now theyre just like 45 degree banks. But barrington said hell look into it :)

basically:

How A1 and most of A2 are... (that's right, some of these berms are straight from A1)
Image

How your drawing says it should be...

Go back to a JLV SX and then tell me these berms aren't cupped. They are damn near twice as tall too. If I cup them any more, you guys will rail around them at 50 mph and quad into everything.

Two turns before the finish = quad.

There are a couple I wish I would have done better (like after you go under the bridge and the following one and perhaps the one before sx triple) but the rest I say aren't bad and I have my reasons.

As for the whoops that you rage text me about... 100% the same gradient used as A1. Only differences are the entry to them from the berms. (distance).

To all. Traction has been the same and probably will stay the same with the exception of Daytona. You can find that in your saf if you question it. I see some were smart enough to actually check.

I just don't know how to live anymore without Awood S'ing my D on the forums all the time.

I missed my track appreciation post this week, but I thought it was the most fun one yet. It was a bit more technical without having (what I thought were) oversized jumps like SD, but once you get in a groove it has the same easy rideability that A1 did. I don't think 90 berms will ever be good just as a personal preference, but I got used to these after a few laps of sliding out so they're not too bad. All these tracks are really just fun to ride lap after lap, and they look great, so kudos to the track team so far this year. I'm all smiles :)

I appreciate the work you put in for us Barrington. A2 has been my favorite track so far. Keep up the great work.

I figured I'd give him a chance after winning the 450 main. Bad idea I know.

Read the last 40 pages I've missed, here's what I got out of it:
Cody Darr wrote:So last night heat 2 250 was fun, until I started seeing this strange animal around the track. Its was around lap 4 I started riding funny and didn't know why. I then instantly knew what animal it was, a god damn dolphin took over my body. Made me ride like the classic dolphin diver darr that we are all used to. Needless to say I didn't make the main.

Race seems to do just fine with it.
Only person in MXS to have multiple wins in rF with a button throttle :D
Think Phathry did, it was either gas or steering I forget which.

We already can quad before the finish with the berm, that is there,

1. It was a hand drawing you dont need to be so literal.

2. Its not so much the actual gradient of the berm but how far you paint them to cup. Right now there is no railing the outside if you want to send something, its just cutdown. Were corning on a bank, not a BOWL turn.

That is my point. And you want faster berms. Again, go ride the old tracks of 2011 12 and 13.
