I don't have answers for everything but here is what I know. Last night the servers were set up to be hosted automatically by scripts. The scripts had one tiny little error that caused them to not work properly. Please don't think for a minute that no one with rF cares that it failed. I know that Wheels is pretty bummed. He isn't happy about it at all.
Why was it changed last night? I could say that last nights event would have had multiple positive reasons to be ran automated. But the main reason was quite simple. We didn't have anyone that could host. We tried to find fill ins but didn't have any success. We can't just let ANYONE run the race. Yes that is our own problem. We are aware. We try to dedicate as much time to this game and racefactory as we can but sometimes things come up and the time we have just isn't enough.
The communication is cut off on purpose. For one, Wheels is pretty limited on his communication while at his real job. It is difficult for me or Checkerz or anyone else with rF to speak to him. We are also all spread out over the country. Different time zones. By the time Wheels and Checkerz are able to do anything after work, I'm already almost in bed.
Excuses over for now. We will try our best to clear this up. If races need made up, I suspect that will happen. It is silly to think otherwise IMO. I know that isn't convenient and we are sorry for that. Believe me when I say it is also in our best interest when things run correctly and smoothly.

If you think you are qualified (and by qualified I mostly mean trustworthy, respectful, etc. If you find yourself routinely in the ban court, you probably aren't what we would consider qualified  ) to help out with hosting some races (probably AM's on Thursdays) please PM me. BTW, you can host and still race the same event.

Again, Sorry for the inconveniences.

Sincerely,
Stephen - your unofficial rF spokesperson.

Thanks for the reply and update!
Shit happens sometimes I guess. Just a tiny human error that threw the script off.

I think everyone here still appreciates the time and effort you all put in to the game/series.

Hope things can resume as usual next week!

I'll just jump in real fast to offer some of the information I have, some opinion, and really a reason to get closer to 1000 posts to release another track...

Anyway, most of the time when it comes to a "second" night of racing, Wheels can't make it. This is why Motoagogo hosted Amateur Nationals last year. So the problem we ran into last night was another situation where Wheels was just going to be unavailable and he knew about it a couple of days ago. So the process begins for him to find an appropriate host in a shortened time. It wasn't ideal, but he tried. As it turned out, Checkerz is still AFK and out on the west coast doing stuff for his real job at Race Tech. Barrington was busy as well and I just give him and Wheels the benefit of the doubt right now anyway as both of them are expecting a child in a few months! Peter I believe had to work otherwise he's the next guy to go to. Race Karlin is being initiated into a fraternity at his school this week and hasn't been on in two weeks anyway. So it was down to Kyle Watts to help (which he's never hosted for rF before) but he was busy as well and even he tried at the last minute to make it work with one of his friends who has hosted before. As for me, I temporarily moved to Phoenix yesterday so by the time I was settled, the chaos had already started. So in the end, it was determined by Wheels to just run it Auto-Scripted as MOST OF THE TIME it works no problem. I don't think many of you Amateurs were around for ARS but that has a pretty proven track record. From what Wheels said, he was rushed for time and doubled up on the scripts by mistake and they were fighting for server supremacy ultimately making everything pretty much fail.

It happens guys, honestly. This whole lynch mob mentality that comes out of everyone once something messes up is ridiculous and exactly why I swore off hosting at the end of 2013 when I was damn near ran out of the community after taking over Nationals for Wheels and Sween. It's not like Wheels is purposely trying to blow you guys off, but as I said time and time again, Amateur racing is NOT top dog for Race Factory. Sure they want to get new players involved and offer a great experience to you guys but rF was Pro only for a while and there was a reason for it. As to the "we should be treated just like Pros" argument. I'm starting to lose hope in that next generation of MXS players. Essentially, the fee exists now with rF simply to keep rF around. If you guys were racing for free still, not only would rF care a lot less, rF might not even exist. It's not like they are getting rich off of you guys. For 17 Rounds of service across all facets, they are still making way less individually than one person on here who releases one bike at a pay to own value. I GUARANTEE IT. But honestly AM guys, really? I mean, I love you all for playing MXS and it's awesome that you are getting involved with the game and trying to race, but acting like the AM class is as prestigious as the Pro class in this game is just not right. I have literally had people bitch at me for not streaming AMs and only streaming Pros because "AMs are paying the same so they should get just as good of a stream." Well what good does that do? First of all, then you'd want to sandbag AMs to get "TV time" and "win titles" all of the time and there's no incentive to move up then. Secondly, please point out to me the B-grade Amateur CSGO matches that MLGtv streams or the B-license iRacing races that iRacingTV guys will stream. Plus, streaming was never and still really has nothing to do with Race Factory. It was done by Race Factory before but they were doing it for fun and now it's a third party thing entirely. It's not like it's something that comes guaranteed with the package. I think it's awesome that guys like Motoagogo and now Matias Janice stood up and wanted to give you guys coverage but the point of a high quality stream is to detail the best riders in the game, and to give an incentive to new players to try to reach that level.

So that's just from my angle as the media covering this game. Flame on about it, it's just the truth. But please knock it off with the lynch mob mentality when one small mistake happens in Race Factory, because all you guys are doing is giving Wheels and Chex and the higher ups a reason to say "nope, not worth it." *pulls plug*

So WHY in the hell we have to pay the same price? make ams free or 10 U$ then i'm good. Cause my championship is already fucked up from the rd1:being black flagged with no reason and then "server is full".

If you want the Amateur class to be treated equal to the Pro class, then you need to ACT like the Pro's. And that's coming from me, an amateur rider myself. I am honestly glad that no admins or rF individuals were in the server to witness how people were acting last night.

I agree. There was a lot of disrespect thrown around. However it was really between 5 or 6 guys from what I saw. Coincidentally the same people that talk shit to everyone everywhere. Sometimes I wish AM servers were muted. Looking forward to going Pro for outdoors just so I don't have to listen to some of these guys.

Take the time to read the following paragraphs after that part. He's done a decent job of explaining why.

I don't think you were around a couple years ago when the Am program got cancelled for basically this same exact reason. I've always wanted to move to pro just because of the quality of the people in that class.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm not here to tell you whether or not I think the price is right. I'm just telling you the honest truth of the situation. I have no real bearing over the way Race Factory is ultimately run.

As for Round 1, the only reason people were getting black flagged was either A. They were being a nuisance in chat... or B. They weren't signed up to race that night. I was there and saw what was going on. There was a point where the wrong people were black flagged like 15 minutes before UID grab but everyone who should have been there had ample time to get back into the server. Don't know what to tell you other than that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
