Re: Paying for racing (straight rhythm and beyond)
I'm absolutely fine with paying to race high quality events on high quality tracks, as i respect how much time and effort goes into both. However, I would expect a raised level of expectations towards cleaner and fair racing with tougher penalties for those who are dirty and/or cause problems. As long as the racing is kept fair and those who are running it ensure that it remains that way, I'll continue to pay.

I'll jump in and talk about what I'm planning for Monster Cup. I'm not sure what pricing will be (probably $5 for Am/250 and $6-7 for Open Pro) but all Open Pro entries will go to a 100% pro payback. The top five in each other class will get their money back and the rest of that money will go towards the event organizers. I will be taking very strict measures to enforce clean racing and very clear rules will be laid out as far as what is right and wrong.

Re: Paying for racing (straight rhythm and beyond)
Upon further thinking, I'm considering $10 for Open Cup class. This could make for one HELL of a payday for some people. Paying back according to the AMA SX payout schedule would give EVERYBODY WHO RACES their money back. Obviously $10 is steep for a race where I'm not giving you a track early, but NOBODY will have this track early except those making it. Here is the payout schedule I'm looking at. This is assuming 50 entries at $10 apiece and giving a 10% bonus to sweep all 3 mains.

Great point! May I ask what do people get back for buying a $100 early-access model? Do I get contingency money from Mason if I do good on his Honda? I mean if im paying $100 for a model, I surely should be getting some kind payback at the end of the season!Bubba40 wrote: If Checkerz wants to charge for a race i have no problem but when I see people say oh well there should be prizes 1 threw 5 do you see jay or mason giving the money back for getting 1st hell no. So why is it such a big deal if Checkerz wants to charge for race.
( I have nothing against Mason but this is just an example of whats happening to this community. I personally don't feel like we should be charging for anything, but whatever floats your boats!)

Some people see that it is worth paying money for. Just because it is not worth money to one person, does not mean its not worth money to someone else. For every 100 people that dont want to buy it, there is 1 person who does. There are obviously people not wanting to pay for a series, but there are people who do. Different views for different people.
