I can't wait for Hangtown. Never thought I'd say those words, cause I hate riding Hangtown, but I'm ready for this Nationals series

Sucks to not race Mx Sim outdoors or any season after having the game for a year, yet glad to host/stream for all that are. Make sure to make this the most exciting season yet.

I'm struggling to believe that the reason you want a 'pay to receive the the track scheme' is because you're nervous of someone else running a similar series with the same tracks.checkerz wrote:Thank you for taking time to type something mature out.onefoureight wrote:blah blah pay to race etc etc.
Guys not racing having to pay has nothing to do with greed. If we give away all the tracks free and at same time, nothing stops Joe Blow from hosting the exact same series for free using our hard work.
You've been doing this for years, I can't even remember if anyone ever ran a similar series with the same tracks at the same time as rF. And I've been lurking since 2011.
And even if they did, no one would a fuck about the other series, it's like having the opportunity to play at ESL One or being asked if you wanna play in your buddies CS LAN tournament that just happens to coincide with ESL.
Also you'd be surprised with how much respect you have in this community chex, I'm more than sure if you asked people not to host a series with these tracks until the nationals are over they'd be more than happy to abide.
But back to my point, justifying not having a pay to race instead of a pay to play because someone else could have a similar series is laughable. rF is rF and nothing else will come close to it.

personally, i agree with paying to race but paying for the track seems a bit far and unnecessary tbh, i don't want to take this game serious. Just want to mess around on the new tracks each week but have to pay 25 dollars to do so. sad times:(

It's only $25 ... Go collect some damn bottles ??
Re: 2016 rF Gaming Pro and Amateur Nationals
Sorry, I have missed this question a few times. We are doing pay for the series simply for management purposes because we are handling it manually.Arkady910 wrote:
But why do you not make a system of pay for event ?
Because, for me, it's the best solution to recover some money, all of the real challenger for the championship will pay all events and if one guy (like me) can't do all these events because he do higker studies in learning he wouldn't pay 25$ to play just for 3 events (for exemples). If you don't want do this you can make someone pay for mid-season and if you don't want do that just explain to me why.
What this means is, last night I took my first pass through memberships, building a spreadsheet and confirming payment along with details were correct. This took 2 and a half hours, and I haven't activated a single one on the rF site yet.
I am not complaining, we knew it would be a lot of work up front, but after the first week most guys will be setup and it'll just be a few a week trickling in.
That is the reason for the whole season though, if we did it weekly, we'd have to manage it weekly as well.
If this goes well, perhaps in the future we can invest further into the site to build something a bit more automated, but that wasn't a possibility for this season.
It is 100% the reason.onefoureight wrote: I'm struggling to believe that the reason you want a 'pay to receive the the track scheme' is because you're nervous of someone else running a similar series with the same tracks.
EMF has, but I wasn't worried about them as they are someone we respect and know they would work with whatever we needed; but it shows it can be done. Also, others (while small, but they existed) have tried - and some even filled the amateur class void when we didn't run amateurs. You've been doing this for years, I can't even remember if anyone ever ran a similar series with the same tracks at the same time as rF. And I've been lurking since 2011.
You don't think guys would gravitate to the free series versus paying? You see the people complaining about paying? They definitely would. We are consistently doing the work to put these tracks/events together, we 100% should be in our own control over what is done with them. It is a lot of work. And even if they did, no one would a fuck about the other series, it's like having the opportunity to play at ESL One or being asked if you wanna play in your buddies CS LAN tournament that just happens to coincide with ESL.
So much respect that my straight rhythm track was whored around like the town bicycle from those who paid for early release? So much that certain members of the community were scheming to run a free event on that track while I was trying to run my paid series? While people MAY respect it, it isn't a chance we were willing to take to do it properly. I don't want to go through the headaches like I've seen guys like Mason do with his model of guys sharing and ripping it. So instead, we waited until we had our ducks in a row to protect our investment with more than just respect and moved forward. Also you'd be surprised with how much respect you have in this community chex, I'm more than sure if you asked people not to host a series with these tracks until the nationals are over they'd be more than happy to abide.
You speak of all this respect and how great rF is; it didn't happen over night. It happened after years of a team working our asses off making tough decisions and trying to not get them wrong most of the time. So hopefully, this will be one of those situations where we didn't get it wrong, and looking at the support we've gotten, the great response to memberships, and the very little backlash, I think we did.But back to my point, justifying not having a pay to race instead of a pay to play because someone else could have a similar series is laughable. rF is rF and nothing else will come close to it.
-------------
Those of you wanting the tracks for free, you will get them; but it will be for a while after the event unless you want to support the people making them for you. Again, it was either this, or no tracks or events at all - so you aren't losing anything. You are gaining an opportunity to buy them to have them like normal, or getting them a month later for free; but either way, you are gaining something that you wouldn't have had with this system in place.

I will be offering high interest loans for any of you that wish to race this series but do not have money at this time. Pm me for details.
Re: 2016 rF Gaming Pro and Amateur Nationals
JLV has been working with the RF guys and has made it so you will only be able to play the track if your uid is on the list of people that have paid.nickuzick wrote: I'm not sure if you have answered this in previous posts on the topic but how will you be able to tell who is leaking the tracks? We know it'll happen but how will you be able to circumvent it?

Bravo. This is a good solution to some of the problems you've encountered over the years at a reasonable price. I'm sure you'll be quoting the crap outta the no refunds rule. Good luck with this scheme guys, hope it eases the hardship of running this.

Ok I fully understand now and i know it'll be hard to manage that manualy (I was thinking you did an automatic system and it's the reason why I had send my question) . Thank you for these precisions.checkerz wrote:Sorry, I have missed this question a few times. Re: 2016 rF Gaming Pro and Amateur Nationals
I understand why you are charging all up front, and ive already paid, but i do have to agree with some of these guys, Euros for example, most likely cant make every round but more so 3 or 4, might be an idea to sell like a half season pass or something up front that grants you like 6 rounds of your choosing for a discounted price. Just kind of seemed like a good idea id throw out there.

Will emf not happen then?
