Bringing someone with Tickles money into a thumb war is suicide for the little guy who cant afford the top thumb war schools, and thumb trainers, and private factory thumb war rings, or to travel to the amateur thumb regional qualifiers. Dont even go there brah.KTM57 wrote:I will be watching this one play out more attentively than a guy who just bet Tickle's money on a thumb war.

Re: 2014 MX Sim Cup (On Hold for now)
When I was 13, I suffered a traumatic injury that resulted in a nerve being severed in my right wrist. Besides being unable to pleasure myself with my native tool for several months due to an external fixator on my forearm, I was crushed by the blow that was the end of my thumb war career.
From a young age, I was in thumb war tournaments where I placed last or near last, but where I totally could have beaten the other kids who are now professional thumb soldiers. I could have purchased myself a new wrist nerve or hired a high-level thumb war trainer such as Alton Brown to restore me to a thumb war level representative of my natural prowess; however, I simply do not have Tickle's money, so I resort to thumb war simulations and vitalthumbwar.com to take out my anger on those who are able to participate in thumb wars.

Sadly, thumb war teams require Tickle level funding.

Re: 2014 MX Sim Cup (On Hold for now)
Its sad when a guys thumbing career is cut short by injuries, lack of tickle money and overall lack of skill. We cant all be pros at thumb wars, and when we realize that, we should all sneak into the thumb war ring at major professional thumb war events and photo bomb the professionals who have tickle money.

Cute guys.
Can you stop bringing up something that I said 3 years ago? I literally said the Tickle thing in 2012, and the shit I said back then was dumb as shit. (I still say stupid shit now, but I don't disrespect Pro riders nor talk myself up)

Soooo, just as a casual observer to this "conversation", this whole thing was blown out of proportion ON BOTH SIDES for no good reason at all.
Not picking sides at all, however, Devin blowing up at Byron for the track thing in the first place was uncalled for. Then it was really uncalled for when apparently everyone commenting turned into 8 year olds and were having a pushing match on the forums over NOTHING.
If Byron doesn't want to use Al's track because Al won't let him change it, who cares? It's Byron's decision whether or not Al's track is good or not (which I think it is, good job btw) and Al's decision not to let someone tamper with it. Like Chris, I agree that it's a decision that hurts more than helps but at least you're not selling it Al and for that I applaud you.
Is Byron going to give out the version he ends up using early to others? Maybe, but I doubt it since whoever did sack up and make him a track probably wouldn't give it to him unless they were sure he was going to do it right. There are people who aren't like that, sure, but the really good creators who I'm assuming Byron probably asked aren't that biased usually.
Regardless of all that nonsense, how about we sit back, wait for this event to maybe happen, be happy if it does and grow up a little bit because we all learned to stop acting like children. (or you know, the same children will read this and keep being children at which point I can't help y'all and good luck with those round things dropping one day)

Much respect Chris for everything you've done with reflex, and mxs. but what's my mec track got to do with you or rf? sorry i don't follow.checkerz wrote:Exactly. And for rF to ensure the quality of the series and events, they need to be able to have the ability to make the tracks the way they feel is best for the event (even if they aren't always right, it's their series and their decisions). And then the part where creators get upset if their track isn't used - because in the creator's mind of course they think it's awesome.al167 wrote:I was just saying this as I got the impression from reading the topic that I wasnt allowing him to use the track. He can still use it.. just not mod it.( I dont know him or his work) No bad feelings.
And this is a replica so im sure people will whinge either way no matter what you do.
but like i said, for this case just didn't want someone i don't know modding it. simple. and i stand by that.
like i said before, no hard feelings to you chris or Byron.
cheers al

I don't think it has been discussed and it's probably too late now... but al if Byron were to give you a small list of small things to correct, would you be willing to fix them yourself? Then release the track when he give you the go ahead? Just an idea.

Did someone hack your account, or is this really the new DDavis? All kidding aside, I was surprised to see your comment (the earlier one) since you weren't raging during races anymore.Ddavis wrote:Kellen's right, sorry Byron. I blew things out of proportion. Its your race, your calls.
