Calling Wheels/Sween...

Although the AMA rule allows 250 SX points to be equal to 450 SX points, I think we can all agree that they aren't EQUAL! Looking at this "grand national championship" do you really think Hunter Root should be ranked ahead of Dennis and Tysen, and that 6 of the top 10 players are 250 riders? No offence Hunter or any of those 250 guys, you're all bad asses...

I say screw the AMA Rule, and put 250SX pts. worth .5. Still let them count for something, but even things out a bit. I mean, unless you really agree Josh Betts has Mikey Owen covered by 10 points.

Chris, I think that's a silly thing to do. Butchering points to make the 450 guys look better? If you see them ride you'd know they are. And if one knew it was "grand national championship" then they would know that it is 450 and 250 combined. Not sure it is even a big deal other than literally making the 450 guys look higher up when really they aren't. Why fake something that actually isn't? Keep them the same.

I don't know what you're smokin' Checkerz, but 450 guys get to do 29 rounds, while 250 class only gets to do 21 rounds (+8 more if they choose to ride the 450) and if they make up enough points in those 450 races to score equal points as the 450 guys, maybe they do deserve to be ranked ahead of them. Also, at this point were 7 rounds in. The 250 West guys have scored most of their points in their series and the 450 guys are nearly equal in points since they've done the same amount of races. The 250 West guys will go down in the standings towards the end of the East coast, and the 250 East coast will tighten the gap on the 250 West guys, while the 450 guys pull away in points. The top 5 in points in 250 will likely finish well inside the top 10 in 450 class and earn a low national number, but what does is matter, look at Jeremy Smith, Clay Alfrey, Ryan Mahan, Kyle Robb, and Dennis Fjeldberg, they all scored low numbers and are in contention for wins in 450 class. Typically we don't see 95% of the 250 West class try to race the 450 class on the East, that's why it seems to "unfair". Leave it how it is.

The 450 class is a joke now, it should count for .5 if anything. I couldn't take racing seriously on Sunday.

Oh well i got my 25 for 25.

if it finished like this wouldn't I have a career number for being top 10? And all you guys beg for realism so leave the points alone, us west riders held it down in 450s just fine last week anyways

Top 10 in the overall standings would earn a permanent number, but it's to early to even predict what numbers they would decide to take. Outdoor champions can pick a single digit number but top 10 overall cannot.

Chris, I agree and I disagree with you in a way. Kellen and myself were just talking about this and he made a very valid point. We've got 4 or 5 of the best 250 riders on one coast, and 4 or 5 of the best 250 riders on the other. After that it starts to drop off. SX I totally agree there could possibly be a .5 multiplier, but what about outdoors? The 250s and 450s race the same amount of rounds, and in some cases the 250 class is more competitive in a championship standpoint seeing as how the two coasts come together. This could definitely be up for discussion.
I'm washed.

I think you guys are mis-understanding Chris' point.

And Vanderlee, read what I said in the MO SX thread about the 450 class. There were a lot of people there on Sunday that I feel kind of shouldn't have been in the class but they were allowed to because of the A class rule change. That goes to you as well Burkeen, about 4 or 5 REALLY GOOD west riders held it down sure. But most of the rest were painfully ruining championship runs for some the top 450 riders. I know you were frustrated about something that happened between you and Tysen (not saying Tysen actions were just) but any west rider suddenly in this mix really needs to look at it with some serious different shoes on. Flashback to '10 when Stroupe (East rider) collected Reed's spokes with his footpeg. Not that Stroupe doesn't deserve to be racing against those guys but that DNF would have been a huge dent in Reed's chances at a title had he not ruined himself the following week. That's the scenario for Vanderlee, wasn't RIGHT in the title fight but was still close and had terrible luck and now has a mountain in front of him to even get back into the top 3.

I never really liked the 250 regional rule change to begin with. In Sim it's a whole different story. If you want the best points, the most prestige and feel like you are racing the best in the world in a video game then you should have to race the premiere class. Not like Root, Burkeen, Richards, Nash, Smith, Robb, Alfrey, Mahan, Hinners, Cromie, etc. NEED more time to develop their skills and are too young and not tall enough for a 450 or big enough or whatevs. Maybe it's just my assumption but I think most of the top 250 guys are there for a better shot at a title then having to face some of the aliens in the 450 class.

250 Nationals I don't really have much of a problem with because then every top 250 rider has to race against each other, THEY AREN'T SPLIT. That's why the points should be halved in my opinion. If it stays the same oh well, no skin off my bones but I just wanted you guys to look at it from a different view.
