I'm guessing the reason he picked Sunday is because it's the best day/time for him to host it (not sure exactly, just normally that's when hosts decide to schedule events). Truthfully there's no perfect day of the week when people won't be busy with something. Personally, I believe that Sundays tend to work better because on Saturdays people go riding/go out with friends or family. Not trying to kill the suggestion, just feel like a lot of people think events are scheduled based on when it's good for everyone when really it needs to be scheduled when the host has the time for it.
