I think this would be a good idea because a lot of 250 riders will sandbag to West Ams knowing they can still race a 250 pro coast. Only allowing one pro/am coast will reinforce the "try my best to qualify for the pro race, but if I can't quali I can run Ams on Sunday on a 250 still. Will make for the best competition.John23 wrote:^Bhardy448 wrote:orrrr only allow people to do one coast in 250's regardless of what skill level you are..

How about make a rule where if you want to race the Amateur series, you can't have an rF national number (or something). That way, you don't have guys sandbagging the West coast like you're saying.
Re: 2016 rF Pro MotoOption and Am FAMmx Supercross Series
For example my brother wants to do 250 West Ams but try and race Pro on the East coast, why screw him out of it and not allow him to try and qualify for Pro? Is that what you're aiming for? Eliminating people from going from Ams to Pro? (or Pros to Ams?)

I don't have the racing experience (on Barrington's tracks) or the speed to qualify for 250 East, but I feel that the best way to make that happen is to race ams for a bit, then move up. I would say the best rule would be no prior 250/450 main event experience, so people like Cole Heberlein and Doug Oakley, who have had National Numbers, or at least are fast enough to have one can't race ams like they're doing in the fam series right now

I think it would just be cool to see these rules figured out before the season starts rather than putting them in place mid season like last year with Craig trying to drop down and wasn't able to. Regardless, really appreciate the effort of everyone behind rf over the years and should be a fun season. Just hoping the 12 year old revolution that's taking over this game doesn't ruin the fun for the people who actually appreciate this stuff!

The rules are nearly locked in, just a bit more discussion between rF staff before official announcement.
Tentatively...
(And yes licenses will get a huge run through)
450 Pro = Pro license only
250 Pro = A license or above. Riders who have earned a career number are not eligible.
250/450 Amateur = B or C license. Riders who have earned a national number (possibly below 80) since 2014 are not eligible.
These are still getting reviewed. And we will finalize transitioning classes as well.

Oh... career number aren't eligible. Apparently I can't read very well

I think these rules look good. will really make for a talented 450 field! Might eliminate the possibility of 450 gates not being full if it carries to outdoors too!

Again these aren't final. We are also looking at possibly allowing 125cc and up bikes in the 450 class. Also potentially 250 2 strokes in 250s. Nothing for sure. A lot of thought from a whole team goes into this stuff behind the scenes.

itd definitely be cool to add some new rules like that, but imo the rules for 250 pro should be more along the lines of "if you are placing top positions in 450 you shouldnt be able to drop down" but then again thats just imocheckerz wrote:Again these aren't final. I think it'd be awesome to have 250 two strokes in the lites class.
