Joining as spectator

Hey I would like too watch the pros when they race but I cant seem too figure out how too spectate.. is there a way todo this without joining the actual race because I stupidly done that earlier and then quickly backed out
, do I have too write a command or something along them lines?

Join the server when the race starts, most races you have to sign up for so if you dont sign up, you will be in warmup mode and have no participation in the race. Then just spectate who you want

also make sure you do /togglespy in chat to spec people while in server
