Novice vs Racing

I am, like many, still very new to mx sim with an on/off play period of about 4 months. I have more recently started grinding out sim to improve my skill more intensely. this meaning i am playing upwards of 3 hours a day and when i am not playing i am watching SYS' race coverage studying how the pros and ams do it! all is well but as a new comer i am finding it very difficult to find a way to get into racing on a more novice level where people who want to take the game more seriously but still with a small catalogue of skill. If any one can advise any ways or means of getting into novice races and or events it would be greatly appreciated.
