Questions about racing.

Post by Tbone323 »

Hey guys, I am interested in amateur racing and have a few questions. I’ve searched the boards and racefactory site and haven’t found answers yet. Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. How do I obtain a C license? Is signing up on the racefactory site and buying a race pass enough, or does someone have to grant one?

2. Qualifying and UID grab? I found the qualifying servers on the RF site but I’m confused on how that works. Do you join a server, spin laps then wait in the server until qualifying is over? Do you have to be in a qualifying server during UID grab or are they recorded somewhere else?

3. Joining the race. If I do qualify how will I know what heat I am in, or what server to join? Is that info on the RF site or a discord?

4 Erode setting? I would like to practice with an erode setting similar to what is being raced on. Do erode settings vary by track or is it a constant value?

Once again any help is appreciated. Hoping some Mxsim racing can cure my moto fever while recovering from a recent injury.

Thanks,
TBone

Hi Tbone, nice to see someone making a decent effort to ask questions in a formal manner, here are my answers to your questions:

1) To obtain a C license, you must sign up on the racefactory website, if you are just getting into racing and are applying for a C license , I reccommend you start in the novice class which is free to race BTW. There are other websites that races are conducted on as well, but america RF is the go to website for racing.

2) Qualifying is done by joining a server listed on the qualifying page of the race you are participating in, first you must join the server and complete a session in order for your laps to count.

3)The info for what server to join will most likely be on the rf website or in the series race thread http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=53664, once you have qualified or need to know, after UID's have been grabbed, heats will be announced and you should be able to see what heat you are in if you qualified.

4)Not sure on the erode setting, my advice on this would be to message jeremy or one of the rf track admins to see if they will give an erode setting close to what they choose to use during racing, if they wont tell you, your best bet would be to simply ask in the rf discord.

Have fun racing Tbone!

Thanks for the reply Model, that is helpful info.

I’m still a bit confused on the licensing. I have a recently created RF account but see the message “your license is not allowed” when trying to register. Ill try emailing the RF crew and see if they can help.

Have a great weekend.

Update:
I just found the license request on the RF site. On mobile if you open the menu and click on your username it will show more options. The third option is Request a License.

No problem dude. I think I might make a video or guide explaining how to get into racing. Last night was my first time and honestly if it hadn’t have been for a couple guys in the chat I wouldn’t have known where to be or what to do. I think a guide would be really helpful for new guys.
