Track of the Week Series week 6: 2016 SX Madness Series - Rd 5 - The Strip

Post by jlv »

This is the "Track of the Week" series where we have weekly casual races on tracks chosen by vote. If you're a newbie or just not that fast, this series is meant for you. Fast guys are welcome but since this is for casual players don't get mad if some squid on a 125 gets in your way!

This week we're riding The Strip!

Entry fee: FREE!
Registration: None! Just show up!
Bike class: Open!
Time: Friday July 18, 2025 9:00 PM EDT
Server: elsinore.mxsimulator.com:19805
Track link: 2016 SX Madness Series - Rd 5 - The Strip

The track is running on elsinore.mxsimulator.com:19805 now. I'll use the lap times from there for the seeding if more than 22 show up. Planning on doing two 12 lap motos.

Not sure if this is the place, but I dug these out of the mothballs in the basement to go racing...

2016 track this week to match my 2016 gear. I have invisible starting gates, and that's a real conundrum. I looked in Help/Troubleshooting etc. after searching "Missing Timing Gates" or "Timing Gate Fix". Nada surf. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem!

The fix for me was; Downloaded 2016 Supercross Round 1 Anaheim, and the gates are now visible on the SX Madness track!

Here is the link to the 2016 SX tracks; I downloaded the "Medium" version of the Anaheim Round 1.

It was just Seth, Havoc and myself this week. Seth won both motos followed by myself and Havoc. The track was tough to find a rhythm on for a slow guy like myself but at least there was good company!

moto 1
moto 2

Looking like there's no interest in this so this will probably be the end of this series.

Nooooo! It was forum issues, I'm sure. Give it one more week now that you've exorcised the demons. I got 3 dudes interested.

Sure! I think instead of using the winner of the vote I'll just try to pick an easy track. Feels like everyone likes super difficult tracks when it's time to vote but not when it's time to ride them.

I think Friday nights is really a night a lot of people aren't home. Maybe if the race day got switched to Sunday or a more reasonable day im sure youd get a bigger crowd.

I also think a discord would help... I don't use the forums much anymore and most of the time I simply forget this exists on friday, or I am busy as 137 says.

I'm pretty sure Friday was the only day we wouldn't be stepping on anything else. Maybe for good reason though.

Does discord have persistent messages? It looks like IRC to me where people only see your message if they're online when you post it.

Yeah discord has persistent messages. You could set up your own server like the forum if you wanted. There’s user roles and permissions you can customize, channels for different topics, voice and video chat, and even bots for moderation or automating stuff. It’s pretty flexible depending on how you set it up. its alot more than just a chat room

Exactly, and i'd also say Supercross tracks in general aren't good for fun races like these, just like enduro tracks like Avalon Brush. It's like MXS Rank used to be, they all voted for tracks that later no one wanted to play. I'd suggest that you might still accept track suggestions, but you filter them and only let us vote for one of the ones you chose.

Actually there's no reason to keep playing different tracks all the time, from the time at MXS Rank i remember that tracks like Mintop, JGMX Milfville, Cedar Valley MX and Gunnison National meant full servers.

Honestly, i wouldn't say no to playing tracks like Smithtown, Allamuchy Mountain, Ridge Riders or Waterloo Valley either, i think a lot of people forgot how much fun stock tracks are, they're just not used to very realistic traction anymore

Honestly, that would be such a bummer, the first event at Mintop was so much fun!
But i agree with Kyle, Friday probably isn't the best day, for me personally(and other europeans) the race starts at 3AM, i usually go riding on saturday , so it's impossible for me to participate. Sunday or even Thursday sounds good!
