450 Skins / Models

Post by thajman54 »

Are there different templates for all bike models? Do I need a different template for a rmz 250f and a rmz 450f? Or do I just grab the 250f and name it rmz450f-xxxx.png? I just don't understand what is going on with my skins / models. I have installed ALL of the necessary models form the forum. Maybe I just have the wrong templates. Where do I get the 450f templates? I am a graphic designer and I would love to start giving back to the MXS community, but I just can't figure this stuff out. haha. I would really appreciate if someone could take the time and PM me and go over some of this stuff.

Alright. Sooo, some models don't have templates for a 450 AND 250. Some are one or the other. You need to learn the difference between a model, and a dyno. The dyno is what bike you select in game, most guys have a preferred dyno. But you can put ANY model on ANY dyno. So lets lay you love the Suzuki right? Cool, you can use Attacker5's template that he released for the suzuki. Let's say you prefer the yz250f 2009 dyno (like most people). You could take your Suzuki .png and name it yz250f_jm.xxxxx. Then when you go into game you'll go to the dyno you want (in this case the 2009 yz250f) and then select the skin you save (the suzuki). The bike in game will ride like the 2009 yz250f but will look like the suzuki. Pretty sure that covers it, let me know if you don't understand something.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I just have a few questions.
1. Why do so many people prefer the 2009 yz? What makes it so great?
2. How do you dictate which model (2009, 2011, etc)?
3. So can Attacker's PSD be used for a 450f?
4. Why did you need to put the _JM? What does the JM do?

Each model does ride different in game. Also Yes Attackers template can be used for the RMZ450 or RMZ250 Just need to make sure you have the right jm's for each.

1. People perfer because of power and handeling of that dyno.
2. It says it when you select your bike in the top right corner of your bike and setup settings.
3. Yes it can. For his model only.
4. The jm is the file of the model, without them, you will be riding air.
Clear?
