Shiny gear, spec help!

Im trying to chuck my name and digits on the fasthouse gear, i do everything i usually do with different other gears but for some reason it's coming up shiny in game. I've never had to do spec maps but i think that's what it is. i don't know if i'm saving it wrong or if i'm i'm setting it up in photo shop wrong. someone please help D:

Making a completely black spec map will make it so that it doesn't reflect.
