Can't hide squares on p2sta's wheels in blender

Post by ricky452russell »

Spent damn near 4 hours last night trying to figure this out but I can't. I changed my norm to non color after realizing I missed that but that didn't work. Also tried all the different render engines. I originally followed Damian's tutorial on YouTube but that didn't work either

When you go into rendered Viewport shading, it won't show them. When its in Texture or Solid it will show the squares.

The window on the left is the rendered view. I even tried rendering the image and they still showed up

not really sure why you're having issues. It's working for me so it could be your image file?

I did notice that if you plugged it from one slot straight into the alpha it could mess it up, something like that could be happening. You could just use what effertz posted as well.

Yeah neither of those worked. I even photoshopped out a new PNG that I didn't do anything to. D

Yikes, accidentally hit submit

Do they go under a certain materials index?
What render engine should I use? I've tried both

Ay cool, I didn't know you could do that. That saves a few steps for me in the future! Glad I tried to help because I got help that I wasn't expecting.

You're not viewing it in rendered mode, your'e viewing it in textured mode. If it was the render view, you wouldn't see the working grid in the background

I think you might still be on 2.7x. 2.8 doesn't have texture mode I think and in render mode it shows what's selected and the grid and all, which I'm not a fan of. Either way the squares should've gone away when I actually rendered the image but they didn't
