Pretend your bike is named yz250f-2012-DDavis. Then you name the maps as yz250f-2012-DDavis_spec and yz250f-2012-DDavis_norm.

Also say you have multiple bikes on the same model eg yz250f-2012-DDavis Red Plates and the other one you can name the norm yz250f-2012_norm and the spec yz250-2012_spec. By doing that all skins on that model will load the one normal map and the one spec map. It saves loading time in-game and the overall size of your team pack

why are people so lazy to read the proper naming thread DJ wrote and keep asking about how to name this and this....Its all clear how to name things when you read it. I understand when a nood asks, but Devin you are around for a while, its probably time to read that thread and learn the naming

Ohagan is right, if you have same norm/spec map then link it(with proper name) to the model, not to the skin....i explained it in the proper safing gear tutorial, on gear, it works the same for helmets/bikes

considering you wrote this I though you didn't read it.
Your naming is right, just make sure they are not in a subfolder, if its in personal folder directly then it should work

Triple post but if the Suzuki JM files are already in a Saf, how do I arrange it? Do I put everything in a folder then saf it, then later on add the Suzuki JM files? I know I can't double saf a saf.

Quadruple post but can someone PM me and help me out?
I have a folder with everything in it

Then a Suzuki folder
Kawasaki folder
Kawasaki JM folder
O'Neal folder
and 2 .saf for the 250 and 450 Suzuki JMs

So lost in all of this, and how do you name the JM files in Notepad++? Open the saf then re name the files at the top then hit save? Is that it?

you can have it in more safs, no need to make one saf.
name it as you wrote in the post before, and don't look at the fact it is not in one saf

If you saf it with the saf creator, check the Strip folder from path, then it will make the maps working.
If you have already a saf that has something in subfolder, edit it with notepad++ and delete the folder/ from the path of the files

the edit it with notepad++ and delete the folders from the pathes

here is example:
this is what I have: 1262019 ThorFlux/rider_body-2012 Thor Flux Braceless-Hombre.png
make it looks like: 1262019 rider_body-2012 Thor Flux Braceless-Hombre.png

do it for all the files in the saf, then it should work fine

Okay I'll try that. I just did that and also re named my actual files to match with the JMs (Changed it from 2011Oneal to Oneal) and it crashed my game and I couldn't get it to play any tracks :|
