well... the 2010 crf250 is going to look like the 09 450! Has any one modeled the new 450 cause I know people where working on them (i think)
if somebody was then we can just make it the 2010 250f! oh happy days if I was into modeling atm I would so start!! lol. I want to skin one really bad but we need model first dammit!

Re: Upcoming Models
yeah, start a skin from scratch is not so easy, you have to use the "error and try" method to know wich thing is wich, that takes time...DJ wrote:Hey, just quoting what Wilson saidadhkcrfhonda wrote:thanks buddy i appreciate itBesides, most of you have never started a skin from scratch before. Maybe you should start by making something for one of the older models

Dude, it looks amazing, but the kick starter is on the inside of the header...
Re: Upcoming Models
I suppose this would be an okay area to show off my newfound mad skillz. See, at school I have a class called "Mechanical Design" in which we focus on 3D modeling for industrial uses, using Autodesk Inventor. After finishing the project in which we have to build something out of Lego's(after building the Lego's), our next assignment is to make an engine of some sort. Now, the teacher had some plans for some little Stirling Engine thingy that appears to be made of toothpicks and toilet paper rolls. I thought this would be a good opportunity to go nuts, so I'm gonna make me a simplified 440 Maico engine! This project isn't going into MXS, because it's mainly focused on the insides of the engine, but it's still interesting to look at, yes?

Give me more power.
Give me more handling.
Give me more style.
Give me more Maico.
Re: Upcoming Models
Cool, we are using Inventor after using Auto Cad for a while in my CAD class. I think I like Inventor better, you get to see what you are making in 3d, plus you don't have to draw all those stupid hidden and center lines
.

Re: Upcoming Models
Jeez that thing has massive fins. Good luck modelling the whole lot. I had to model a pump when I used Pro Engineer.
Re: Upcoming Models
Same here. I used to love AutoCAD when we used it last year, but now I see just how awesome things can get when you have the good stuff. Though I will say, I don't have any idea how I'm going to make a three-row primary chain in Inventor. Making the chain won't be so hard as making it actually move and flex and such.
Remember, I'm making an extremely simplified version, so 90% of the gears and gaskets and bolts and such are going out the window.
And I think I made the fins too big. Not even a 440 Maico is quite THAT crazy...

Re: Upcoming Models
Do you mean starting a skin that is custom with no references or for something that isn't mapped yet? I'm assuming mapped means you don't have a template to skin yet so you have to find which parts are where right?DJ wrote:Hey, just quoting what Wilson saidadhkcrfhonda wrote:thanks buddy i appreciate itBesides, most of you have never started a skin from scratch before.
