Hey, just quoting what Wilson said Besides, most of you have never started a skin from scratch before. Maybe you should start by making something for one of the older models
Do you mean starting a skin that is custom with no references or for something that isn't mapped yet? I'm assuming mapped means you don't have a template to skin yet so you have to find which parts are where right?
yeah, without template, yo just have the wireframe and you start from there, testing and failing to paint it, also have to do the metals, plastics, shading, etc...
its hard, but fun
Massacre ftw!
the human stupidity and the universe are unlimited, and im not totally sure about the universe...
i hope we have 85's/150's because some tracks have even to little of jumps for the 250.Plus i think it would be awesome to go off of some huge jump in 6th pinned(or 5th if ur using a 150)and see that little bike just flying through the air.And they would be fun to whip and scrub on
If we had 85's then someone would have to tackle the rider model to make it the size of an average kid. Which means that we will have to have a selection of our rider moels. It would be awesome. If I knew how to model I would definately take the responsibility of the 85's.
There's alot more to it that changing the rider model. When you make a rider model, it has to fit an armature. You cant just make the rider model however you like, or it will look as dodgy as hell. For the time it will take to put them in game, I cant see the point in it
Yep. You would need to change all the pivot points of the bike to get the smaller wheel base, and to make it lower. Then there all the mass and power properties of it, which will have to be done with the 450's, but at least you dont have to change the pivot points for them
DDMX What i found that helps getting a flowing mesh it to make the seat shroud and the whole back section to connect. Much like Eskwaad did with his cr125. That way you can connect the mudflap with it. Its also alot better when mapping as everything is the same scale.

I really did consider this and it is in my mind still. My dilema is that I mapped everything as I modeled it, so redoing the tank, shrouds, seat (your mapping), is something that I'm finding hard to commit to. In the long run it will be a better model if I do that though. So, in short, I will probably make everything one flowing mesh, just like ekswaads cr125.
