Though Will is right in a way and the designs he showed are the style I prefer, some people do like the crazier and more 'random' designs. By all means don't go nuts with a brush but you can make that sort of design look good with a bit of thought into it. Try making even the more crazy designs still flow and not be a pattern of sorts almost repeated over the whole canvas, one thing you notice about the simpler ones is they aren't symmetrical but at the same time are counter balanced. Take these points into consideration and you should be on your way to something better looking.

This is what I was more or less trying to showcase, it was just 5 in the morning and I wasn't trying to make another preview. It's simple, but I like it. I wasn't too proud of the design, I'll be working in the style you guys are showing me.

That yellow red one you linked looks like dog shit. The other one was hideous too but yeah...

I don't usually like the crazy ones but the Chaos looked Purty cool to me.
