New Modelers - Indepth guide to learning blender

Post by yomo »

Im starting to do some modeling and found a really handy book on blender

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro

Anyway I think this is better than the tutorials I found because it actually explains what everything is and why it happens etc.
Also helps people get there head around the 3D situation on a 2D screen

Anyway if you keen check it out.

Blender is what you want to use if you didn't previously know or have the money for 3ds max. 3ds max is what you use if you have it. All the top game developers use 3ds max, it offers a better rendering engine, better tools, ease of access, more supported formats, blah blah blah. If you have both, DON'T learn blender except for knowing how to use the export script to get models in game.

When you say 3ds Max, are you guys talking about the program made by Autodesk?
