This guys right, if you half the UV so it takes up the left then there well be room on the right.
Keep in mind everything will look dastorted.

Howcome when I try to lower the opacity of part of a skin for a model (goggle lens for example) so it is slightly see through, that part of the model just dissapears entirely? The model has a norm and spec and I'm so confuzed to why it can't just show the lowered opacity part...

this was happening with my stuff before as well, it was because of export order of the materials. JLV then fixed it and told us what to do to make it work. What helmet we are talking about?

So transparency has to do with the materials set in blender??
I was aware of the issue but if I increased the opacity a little it seemed to fix it.

well from what I learned. the materials right now are rendered in alphabetic order. Which means if you want a transparent material that shows everythnig that is behind it. it has to be further from the A then the other materials..

I name my material that should be transparent ZTransparency...that was all the other materails named like - Reflections, Dull, etc. will be rendered sooner then the transparent one. That means they will be visible through the transparent material.

If you make part of the skin with a material called Dull transparent and there is same named material behind it...it will be invisible and you will see through the whole model
