I have a proposition that I would like some solid feedback on. I plan to offer a jersey printing service similar to a real life one where people send me a gear set to put their name, number, logos, etc. on. I plan to charge a relatively small fee (still undecided but will be discussed later), that will increase with the number of logos and sets required. Due to the recent discussion (more like verbal altercation) about charging for models, I wanted to receive feedback from the community before offering this service. As of now, I plan on charging somewhere around .50 cents for the first set of gear with name and number, and .30 cents for each one purchased thereafter. I am still undecided on logo pricing but it should be less than .10 cents per logo. If you have something meaningful or insightful to add, then please go ahead and offer it up. If you cannot even spell your own name, let alone respond to something I consider somewhat professional, then please don't waste space.
Thanks and stuff.

A lot of people are not willing to pay cash for gear skinning. I've been trying to do it for a long time, and I have only had a few amount of people do it. Just do it for free and don't put up with the hassle of people not having money or a PayPal, etc.

Yeah, that's what I thought would be likely to happen, so I may just offer it to teams if I deem them worthy, I was mostly just going to do it at school during free periods, so it wasn't really for the money.John23 wrote:A lot of people are not willing to pay cash for gear skinning. Due to the fact that the ones who are making the gear don't make money from it, why do you think you should make money off something that is free to you? With out them, you would have no gear to put numbers on in the first place.

While you make a valid point, would those people then owe something to the companies that's designs they used, as well as the programs used to create them? I have decided to do it for free because of all of the issues I have discovered with payment. The whole topic of money within MXS is very fascinating to me. I'm interested to see where it goes and how the creators who provide free creations react when more and more people begin to charge for their work. I can totally see how people such as yourself can justify charging money for selling models, as you guys put a metric shit ton of time into them, and very few people have the time and/or skill to do it.m121c wrote:Due to the fact that the ones who are making the gear don't make money from it, why do you think you should make money off something that is free to you? It's like doing jersey prints except you're using someone else's printer, ink and materials.
