maybe consider listening to the guy that does JGR's gear on answer gear when he tell that font aint it

I would give it to you if I could, but considering we have a contract with them I probably shouldnt. Your font style is close, just not exact

That's very helpful...
I have always used Diamante Serial Heavy for both the name and number on Answer gear, using skew in Photoshop or shear in Illustrator to create an oblique version. They have changed to a much more stylized number recently, but it looks like this font would still work well as a starting point.
